The best private college of Lucknow

You pretty much know what to expect from the management of a private college of AKTU. It is more concerned with making money rather than the welfare of the students.

Although I wanted to go to HBTI Kanpur through UPSEE 2015 but my rank was around 20000. Which was not enough to get for general category. Being a Lucknowite, SRMCEM is the best college in Lucknow. So I opted for this college and easily got selected. Also I could save on hostel fees.

To be honest, the curriculum just like other private colleges of AKTU is pretty outdated and needs urgent revamp. There is almost no industrial exposure and the latest technology that is used in industry is not covered by the university curriculum. The core branches have outdated syllabus but if you are in IT or CS then you have other mediums like the internet to study the latest technological innovations.

No, as there is masters program in Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering and Technology, there is no stipend program. Also internships are mostly provided by the SRMU ( the sister college) of SRMCEM. In the internship, TechEagle,Internity and BlueHart participate.

Placements are average just like other AKTU colleges. Mainly IT companies come for campus placements. TCS is the mass recruiter and recruits anyehere between 40-100 students every year, most from CS and IT. Other recruiters include Mobiloitte, Nucleus Software, jaroeducation, Daffodil and many other IT companies.

Events in Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering and Management include the technical festival named Gantavya which takes place in November. The cultural event Abhivyakti is in March. Also there is Fresher's night celebrated to welcome freshers in September.

Fee structure is quite feasible considering the fees of private colleges. The annual fees ranges between 90,000 to 1,00,000 excluding the hostel fees. Besides this, the students can apply for scholarship in the Government of Uttar Pradesh, which further reduces the fess by 50,000.

The government of Uttar Pradesh together with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University offers scholarship to meritorious students of all categories including General, SC/ST and OBCs. There are various student loan programs which provide loans at a cheap rate.

Campus life is decent here. The people are well behaved and very rarely any kind of trouble takes place, otherwise a peaceful place. Labs are well equipped as per AKTU standards. Sports events regularly takes place in "Spardha". Gender Ratio is well balanced except for Mechanical Engineering. Robotics events take place in the technical fest "Gantavya"

As I am a day scholar so I cannot tell the quality of mess food and the other hostel facilities. From my friends who are staying in the hostel, the mess food is average quality, sometimes the food is bad so they prefer staying in PG outside the college.

This is one of the fields where this college lags much behind. The alumni network is almost non-existent and the college administration doesn't even care about it. The seniors were quite helpful though and assist the juniors in studies as well as in general life.

The academic environment here is very intense. There are 3 quiz cycles (sessionals) of every subject each semester. Every Monday and Saturday, there is a quiz of 1-hour duration which is compulsory. At the end of the semester, there is pre-end semester examination of every subject and finally university end semester examination.

Admission to Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering and Management is through UPSEE( Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam) conducted by the APJ Abdul Kalam University which is the governing university of SRMCEM. To get admission in SRMCEM, the maximum cutoff is 30,000. The cutoff for computer science however is 15,000 rank.

Most of the teachers here have at least an MTech degree from various NITs, IITs or other government colleges and have good knowledge of respective subjects. The top professors and head of departments have PhD qualifications. Talking about the efficiency of lectures, if you concentrate you can easily learn.
