Remarks
College Management has mostly been supportive. Whenever there was a need, it was analyzed and proper measures were taken.
Entrance Preview
After not getting into IITs and NITs, I wanted to pursue my undergrad from some of the local colleges. SVVV has an amazing reputation for Computer Science and Engineering and it is among the top colleges of the state. It closely competes with Medicaps University and a few others but the whole realm of opportunities that the college provides is unbeatable.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is well designed and drafted. I would like to address the importance given to smaller sections like mid-sems and assignments. However, I would insist in inculcating some small project work in each semester which can be taken by a group of students.
Internships Opportunities
College doesn't provide internship. There is a plethora of activities where the students voluntarily participate.
Placement Experience
Overall placement of the college is amazing. With industrial tie-ups with corporate giants like TCS, IBM, Redhat, etc. there aren't much student left unplaced. The dedicated training and placement cells takes care about job-postings and opportunities. Students participate in both,
College Events
SVVV is all about events. The annual techno-management cum cultural fest "Spandan" and the annual innovation challenge "Anveshan" are two of the mega-events. There are other events like Model Untied Nations, Photography exhibition, Dandiya fest, Fashion Show and a lot more. There is a huge involvement of the students of the college in the same guided by faculty members.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees for the university is very much affordable which allows students from different economic cadres to attend the school. Apart from affordable fees, food is sold in canteen at subsidized rates and bus transport is also available for the students. The provision of scholarship makes it easier to manage the funds.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not find a need to take any loan but the college does provide scholarship to the meritorious students.
Campus Life
Campus life is worth a dream and it make you mature enough to deal in life ahead. You'll make friends for lifetime and cherish the nostalgia of the memories you made here in the campus. Talking about the gender ratio, I believe it is a 70:30 for boys:girls. There are a few disciplines which are preferred by female students which some are preferred by males. There are a number of extracurricular event and clubs which the students can join and improve their leadership abilities.
Hostel Facilities
Honestly speaking, I was a day-scholar so I cannot comment much about the hostel facilities and mess food, but what I have learned from my friends is that the food is palatable and the hostels are comfortable. There is a presence of warden all the time which ensures security of every student.
Alumni/Alumna
SVVV has a large alumni database and the takes in effort to maintain alumni relations. They host "confluence" which is the annual alumni meet every year where all the former students meet and network.
Exam Structure
There are dedicated two mid-semester exams and a final exam in each semester which are a test of the theoretical concepts. There are internal and external examinations where students are asked about the practical expertise on the curriculum and are graded accordingly.
Admission
I attempted PEPT in 2012 on basis of which I got into this university. After getting the result, I had to face an online counselling round, whose results were declared in a short period of time on merit basis and I got this college in order of preference that I had set during the counselling process.
Faculty
Most of the faculties are post-graduate or PhDs. They have number of years of experience in teaching. While faculties are friendly and supportive, there are a few which insist on book-based knowledge and doesn't explicitly favour innovation and ideas.
