Best college to take at my rank. I had a choice between textile-iit Delhi and materials science and engineering- iit Kanpur, I chose the latter because of better lab facilities and advanced curriculum and academics.
Course Curriculum Overview
You'll not know everything about materials in the materials science department after bachelor of technology. You probably will need to go for higher studies to have an advanced learning. The learning is ease at pace after 1st year so you can take your time to learn each and every concept
Internships Opportunities
Yes. The stipend ranges from 25,000 to 2 lakh a month depending on the knowledge, skills and expertise of the student. Immense learning curve comes from here
Placement Experience
Job opportunities are vast. However, compared to iit Delhi and IIT Bombay, we still lack behind because of accessibility and not being a metropolitan city
College Events
Antaragni is the cultural festival of iit Kanpur where people from different colleges all across the country come to participate in cultural events like dance, drama, etc. there are multiple events and shows to keep you entertained for the 4 days the fest is on.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible-normal fixed iit fees would cost around 1.2lakh a semester. So the fees for the full 4 years would be around 9.5 lakh which is accessible to the serviceman.

The loan was offered to me by state bank of India under scholars' loan giving a loan of around 6 lakhs rupees
Campus Life
Extremely structured labs and fantastic sports facilities including grounds, equipment and coaches. Extracurrics at the best with every major facility and clubs available for the boon
Hostel Facilities
Mess food was very good in terms of quality and taste in our hostel. Hostels were clean despite the fact that it is more than 40 years old.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network can still be stronger as they grow. There is still a scope of improvement. Senior students should encourage this
Exam Structure
Exam structure is quite strict. However, its fair, every step will fetch as many arks anybody would get if it is correct. No partiality. The exams may get hectic especially when there are more than 2 exams a day during midterms.
Admission
GAVE JEE MAIN AND SECURED 222 MARKS AND QUALIFIED TO GIVE JEE ADVANCED. SECURED 93.4% MARKS IN BOARDS TO REMAIN IN THE TOP 80 PERCENTILE BOARD EXAMINATION WEIGHTAGE CRITERIA. QUALIFIED JEE ADVANCED WITH RANK 3546.
Faculty
They are quite strict yet very knowledgeable. They want the students to learn and not just pass or mug up everything to get good marks. Attendance to classes is not mandatory because they want you to wish to come to classes to learn. They give special attention to those who listen carefully in classes
