- I like that the rules are balanced and there's no discrimination between girls and boys. . Action is quite quick here and authorities actually listen to you.
- Faculty members are kind and supportive and are approachable
- Sports facilities are amazing, and clubs are quite dedicated to there interests.
Dislikes
- There's too much focus on academics and you're required to study most of the time with very little time left for other activities
- City is quite far away and although rarely, but it's s problem
- Attendance rules are too rigid which can also be a good thing
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this because I had an inherent interest in machines and mechanics. Mechanical in IIIT is different from traditional mechanical courses and incorporates industry important skills into the course. More practical approach could make this course even better. Difficulty level always depends upon the professor and that particular course, although by studying a little bit everyday, decent grades can be scored but to get a top grade, you need to study much harder.
Internships Opportunities
Google, flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Booz Hamilton, Adobe ,Amazon provide intership to the students and are quite popular in the campus. There are several projects which one can do. Opportunities are endless if you care to grab them.
Placement Experience
Highest and average packages differ branch to branch. Placement percentage also differs branch to branch with CSE and ECE having significantly higher placement percentage than Mechanical and SM. Although I would say it's pretty much upto you.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fee increases by a few thousand rupees every year. Complete course including tution fee, hostel and mess fee can be covered under Rs. 8 Lakh. And personal expenses are totally upto students. Numerous scholarships are available among which MCM is the most prominent one where all tution fee is waived and a stipend of 12000Rs an year is awarded to the scholars. MCM is on the basis of rank in the first year and on the basis of grades in second year.
Campus Life
There are many fests among which prominent ones are Tarang, Enthuse and Gusto, cultural, sports and technical. Almost all books you need are available in library. Classrooms are well equipped and ergonomically very comfortable. Sports facilities might be one of the best among all premier technical institutes of the country, with IIITDMJ consistently winning INTERIIIT. There are many clubs where you can find community of like minded people.
Hostel Facilities
Room has enough space to keep your bed and to study, the room is provided with a bed, table, Chair, 2 cupboards for each student and a movable cart to keep your stuff, overall it's very well maintained, clean and hygienic. Food is good enough and menu is well balanced. Hostel is mandatory and it's quite affordable and only costs 11000rs per semester.
Admission
The eligibility is to clear the JEE cutoff, securing more than 75% marks in JEE. Exam occur twice a year in a span of two months and the best score of two is considered. Application form can be found on the official website of NTA
