Complete information about IIITDMJ

I am pursuing B. Tech in ECE. As the case with most people, I chose ECE not for my interest but because that was the best I was getting at my rank. Honestly speaking, the course curriculum is a bit hectic with 8 courses in the 3rd sem itself. The curriculum might be difficult for some but I would say that the curriculum is good enough if you wish to pursue your carrier in the core... Talking of exams, there is no week right after 2-3 weeks when the sem begins which goes without any quiz or exam... It's actually hectic in that regard... After 2-3 weeks of sem start, we either have some quiz, or lab exam or presentation or gd or mid sem or end sem.... So you won't even feel when the sem began and when it ended... You will be all through involved in academics if you want good cpi..

I actually don't know very much about that as of now... How much I know is many of our seniors did get internships in geeks for geeks, google, Amazon, etc. This year, internships are little less due to global recession which is particularly affecting the jobs and internship opportunities of mostly all the engineering institutes, but still it's still better than many other institutes.

While mostly students start getting placements in the final year, there are cases when you can even get placement in third year itself... This year companies like meesho gave placements to many of our college seniors.. Highest package of this year is yet to come but last year(2023), the highest package from our college was 1.3 crore rupees while average was around 23 lakh in our branch(ECE).

Tuition fee here hasn't increased for many years as I know. Each sem, our total fees is 90,500 rupees which includes hostel fees, tution fees, gymkhana fee, etc. Adding to it, there is 15,000 rupees mess fee each sem if you want to eat from mess. Students can avail several scholarship opportunities here.. Apart from NSP, and their state provided scholarship, they can also register for MCM scholarship which the top 10% students of each batch gets every year...

The Institute has several fests, namely tarang(largest cultural fest of Central India), roborush(robotics fest), thrust(water rocket competition specifically for freshers), and cultural events on several festivals... The library has a large number of books,majorly related to taught courses and other related fields, which the students can issue. Also, students are given sem books in each sem which they can keep till the end of sem... All classrooms are equipped with proper projectors and mic and speakers.. In terms of sports, our iiit is actually the best among all the iiits right now having already been the 2 time champion of Inter-IIIT. New SAC is also being constructed which may soon open in the beginning of August, 2024.. There are several technical, cultural and sports club that a student can join.. Hostels here have either 3 student room sharing or 1 student room occupancy facilities. In case of 3 student room sharing, there are 3 fans, 3 tables, 3 chairs, 3 beds, 3 almirahs, one for each student.. The rooms are pretty spacious and nice. Mess menu is actually pretty great as well as the taste of food is also pretty accomodating. It surely doesn't taste as good as home's food, but still easily eatable and nutritious. Further there is a mess committee consisting of students to take continuous feedback for the improvement of mess conditions, menu and food quality... The hostels are pretty affordable with 11,000 rupees fees for an entire semester. Here, taking hostel is mandatory even if you live in the same city, and this you easily get registered for the hostel when you pay the sem fee..

You get admission here in IIITDMJ on the basis of your JEE Mains score if you are coming for B. Tech or UCEED if you are coming to pursue B. Des. If you get seat here in josaa or csab counselling and you freeze that seat, you will start getting emails for the application process from the Institute itself. So, the application process is pretty easy. When we came here for document verification, it was also very feasible with all the Senate members present to assist the parents and students in their admission process. So overall it was a pretty good experience.
