Course Curriculum Overview
Btech from IT branch revolves around your problem solving and coding skillls. The curricullum followed in the college is pretty much old and facilities are not up to dated but the same problem is with most of engineering colleges. The courses and subjects taught are merely for exam purposes which only kills the time and talent of the students. I also say faculty are also not great and most of them are inexperienced or new. ONLY BENEFIT OF THE COURSE THAT 75% ATTENDANCE IS NOT COMPULSORY WHICH ALLOW STUDENTS TO FOCUS ON THEMSELVES AND THEIR CODING SKILLS. The papers conducted sem-wise with 6 subjects(100 marks each subject) in which 2 mid-sems(15 marks) and end-sem(50 marks) and TA(20 marks). the papers are quite diificult and require proper knowledge of the course.
Placement Experience
HBTU provides placements on-campus in all branches and with the help of our 100 year alumni base across the globe provides good placcement and working enviroment. Students are eligible for palcements from 6th semester for different companies. Companies visited last year in IT branch were Samsung, Optum, Paytail, Pure software, western union, IBM, Josh technology and many more with average package around 8 lpa and highest package given 17.5lpa. 100% students were placed who were eligible for placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total fees = 135000 --> tution fees 75000, examination fees 10000, infrastructure fees 22000 and other miscelleneous charges 21500. Hostel fees = 18000 and mess fees= 33000. The fees do not increase as such but you can check your recent year fees. You can get UP scholarship vary category wise (55000 for gen and 96000 for SC/ST) if your family annual income is less than 2.50 lacs.
Campus Life
Campus life at my college is characterized by limited social oppurtunities, strugglling club enviroment, and poor infrastructure. Student clubs face many difficulties aand challenges in attracting members and sustaining activities due to minimal support and recourses. The campus infrastructure is outdated, with crumbling buildings and inadequate facilities which effect both learning and living. In the coding enviroment, students face outdated software and lack of resouces, making it difficult to keep up with industry standards.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels provided are too old for living but yet they provide single and triple sharing rooms. Meals provided are breakfast, lunch and dinner with proper time-table. The quality of mess I say, is quite a messy and not good but average. Proper hygiene is also not followed and mandated. Registration of Hostel can be done with college forms and also after it.
Admission
HBTU take admission through JEE Mains score card and different cutoffs for different branches, for me in IT branch the cutoff goes upto 30500 for general category in the year 2022. HBTU do its own councelling rather tha JOSAA on its own website hbtu.ac.in (visit regularly for updates), after the advance paper councelling starts. The application fees for councelling is 1500 which is non refundable and it carries for 3 rounds with options : Float, freeze and slide. To freeze the seat desired 75000 rupees have to be submitted which will be layoff in the total fees. Cutoffs vary category wise so if SC/ST can avail their category certificate. After the online councelling, student have to go through offline councelling in the college as well where he has to show proof of documents. (this is vey hectic procedure as it may take around 8-9 hours for students especially those coming from different cities than kanpur.) After all verification and fee submission, student will be admitted.
