What Students Say
Likes
- The things here I liked was (no ragging) for sure. Because our seniors are too good. they are helpful. There was never any sort of pressure of getting into that stuff.
- Another thing was grading system. As already told. It involves relative grading. Not Absolute. So it is quiet easy to get higher CGPA.
- Not much to say , but. my hostel. life is going very good , I have got plenty of friends and that's too good for me .
Dislikes
- The way our course structure is designed for first years . I mean many irrelevant subjects are there .
- Campus size is small I mean this is the worst thing . (One of many)
- Mess food is terrible. Once you leave home you are gonna regret shouting at your dinner table :D
Course Curriculum Overview
In first year , there is not much related to IT sector courses, I mean it is not oriented towards computer knowledge, just like other colleges. Its course structure is distributed like physics, chemistry and all that stuff. It is only from the second year. which I am yet to go , that we will see a proper IT study. Proffessors are quiet good. as they clear every doubt you ask, I mean not all. but most of them.Okk then not much of the courses here are in real world application though, but assuredly they are gonna be top notch from second year onwards(as of my guess). Our course structure is quiet great as we have two semesters each year. And in each semester we get two examinations- Mid Semester Examination and End Semester Examinations . Our marking system is relative. Grading is done on the basis of highest marks obtained in the particular subjects. not by Maximum marks. thats' one of the good things of our college. Else it would have been quiet hectic to study all the stuffs properly.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fee is around 70000, for each semester. However there is lot of compenstation provided as this is a government college. I mean. for categories (SC/ST/EWS) etc. theres ' a lot of compensatiion. All you have to pay for is hostel or other stuffs. I mean there is very small amount charged by the college. Income certificate plays a good role in getting fee reduction criteria. I have no idea about scholarships as I have applied for none. There might be for girls. But genuinely I have no enough knowledge.
Campus Life
See if you are thinking the campus life to be like student of the year- Karan Johar, then its not like that , I mean , this college has got nothing called campus life . All you will get is plenty of fests occuring on like monthly basis. But again, all you have to do is study atleast in our branch we keep studying day and night and still its fun as we stay in hostel and we enjoy hostel life indeed. :D ; Once you get into college, you will forget campus life for sure. About club and Commities. there are many , you can join any of them , there are certain interviews you have to give in order to get shortlisted, but yeah its not that tough. Our library section is quiet degraded. I mean there is not enough space to study , most of the times it is full. But once you make good friends , you are good to go. You will forget everything.
Admission
Ok, as you all have seen my. profile that I am pursuing BTech in NIT Raipur (Information Technology) , you all must have known the admission process quite well .Even then, I would like to give you a breif idea : ) . I got admission in this college by qualifying JEE mains exam , conducted by NTA every year on national basis. More than 11 lakh students participated in the examination, and I stood up at CRL rank of 19019. Another thing to be noted is that , you must have 75 % in your board exams +2, (if you are general category) . you can find every detail of Jee main online on youtube , or even on NTA website, I mean both are quite good. This exam needs persistent efforts from the student in order to attain a good rank as the comptetion is too high. I mean all these things are being said earlier, I am just repeating the same. Admission process is like once you clear JEE mains with good rank, You can go to JOSAA website for application in NITs and IIITs , (if your JEE Advanced wasnt well)
