Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course to understand and improve the advance techanologies that are used in civil engineering construction. The college basically focuses more on theory and slightly less on practical applications. The curriculum needs to be amended such that they will have to provide minimum 2 months training after 2nd year till 4th year.so that students gets exposure to real world and they learn to apply their concepts. Each semester is of maximum 4 months in which after 2 months will have our mid semester exams and after one months from mid semester will have our end semester exams ..we will not get enough time to prepare for our syllabus even sometimes teachers are unable to complete the syllabus on time .
Internships Opportunities
Many projects are undergoing in collaboration with governments .such as a Namami Gange project is going on in which currently students can get internship opportunities with stipend of 4000/months.. Faculty will also provide research internship under their subjects in which any students who are pursuing b.tech degree can mail them to know the criteria to do internship under them
Placement Experience
After 3rd year, students will have to do internship programes . Some students who performed well during their internship in companies may get pre placement offer (PPO). In our college most of the students get placed during the campus placement. Placement percentage of civil is approximately 70 percentage in civil engineering. Most students go for IT companies and majority of students placed for Data analyst. After my graduation, I will appear for the UPSC ESE exam.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees of general candidate is approximately 1.43 Lakhs /year and other category candidates gets relaxation in fees accordingly their category. Total fees for 4 year is approximately 5.6 lakhs only of college except hostel fees . Nit scholarships are provided but are for very less candidates based on merits . I am an EWS category candidates and I pay 52000 per year fees .
Campus Life
There are many fests that held throughout the year including the technical as well as the cultural fests . Campus life is good and also people around us are very social. We have many clubs including technical, sports, dramatical and other. Student are also go for inter-Nits sports. Those who are involved in clubs does not get disturbed in their studies as you need to be present when their club fest is coming.
Admission
Addmission in the college Nit raipur is based on the jee- mains rank. Student must have 75% marks in his/her 12th standard. Jee -mains exam is taken by national testing agency (NTA) .NTA Releases every year application form and dates .Two jee-mains exam held in one year and after clearing the cutoff which was in my time for NIT raipur was approximately 92 percentile for gen-ews candidates . I got this college with 92 percentile in biomedical engineering with my ews criteria, after that I slided in civil engineering. Two mains exam held once in a year .The difficulty level is quite tough as it checks the analytical approach of students to solve the problem.
