Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is based on the branch taken. It's more circuit oriented for electrical branches while it's more focused on the IT side for the computer centric branches from the 1st year itself with your basic 1st year subjects. The exams held are based on a continuous internal evaluation with 2 mid semesters, 3 tasks i.e assignments with 50% weightage to CIE and 50% weightage on your Semester End Examination marks. The CIEs are the easy exams while Semester ends test your mental capabilities just that little bit
Internships Opportunities
Internships are offered by a lot of companies but usually, mass recruiters such as Wipro,TCS,Infosys give internships on the bucketload and as well as Toyota, Kirloskar throw out internships for students. Medical companies such as Biocon too provide opportunities as well
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester onwards and companies such as Wipro, Oracle, TCS,Toyota,Mercedes etc offer employment to our students. My plans after getting a degree would be trying to achieve a master's in any specified field
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fees are relatively reasonable and there are scholarships available for financially struggling students provided they have a good academic track record. Since I am a first year student, my fee for Btech Biotechnology is 150000 per year which is quite reasonable.
Campus Life
College life is very much the best part, interactive and chill seniors, a plethora of technical and non technical clubs paired with awesome sports and extracurricular excursions you find. All clubs are run by the placement department of our college and they are very much like our friends who help us with everything. The library is huge and has a plethora of accessible information which I'd say is quite handy. There are fests being held in our college. the most notable one being Incridea which is held in every even semester.
Admission
The Eligibility of the course was 50% aggregate score across Physics, Chem and Biology and for admission process, an entrance exam must be written which is called 'NUCAT'. The application form and details can be found in the website NUCAT.nitte.edu.in I believe and the difficulty of the exam is about that of KCET level. There is no reservation benefits as far as what I know.
