Course Curriculum Overview

I chose political science as my honors as I want to learn about ideas of political philosophy and the curriculum provided at Sikkim University is approved by UGC and it covers my aspirations and I am happy with the curriculum

Class Size: 33Course Fees: INR 700 per year

Internships Opportunities

There is internship opportunities but it is quite hard to get internships as the university ranking is not that high but there is a chance that one can get an internship if one is qualified for such internships

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure varies from course to course and scholarship is provided by UGC and State governments and the university also provides certain incentives for meritorious students and there are employment opportunities if one is qualified for the post.

Campus Life

The main campus is still under construction so the departments are scattered in various locations around the city of Gangtok, the campus life is now average due to the construction process of the main campus. Books are there in the college library.

Hostel Facilities

There is several hostel that is rented building and one can stay at the hostel if one is selected in the merit list and for PG's there is availability as there is many around the city of Gangtok and price may vary according to the facilities provided

Admission

The Admission process and selection is based on Common University Entrance Test conducted once a year once the exam is cleared one can apply for the University and seat will be allotted depending on the marks obtained last year's cutoff was 130

Faculty

There is sufficient faculties and they are well qualified and very helpful their specialised in their respective fields and they are very active in organising activities for the students and the administration is also responsive

Life as a Sikkim University student in the main campus, Yangang

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum will give you a comprehensive understanding of Contemporary IR theories, India's Foreign Policy, polilical theory, Hydrodiplmacy, Poltical Economy, Research Methodology and so on. You will also have to do your dissertation in the last semster that is the 4th semster and defend it to get your Masters Degree.

Honest my review

Course Curriculum Overview:

It was diverse and more likely never heard of but it was nice I came to know about war and peace why war happens and why peace is very important, how society works, how religion works everything I don't know how good does this curriculum prepares you for real world but gives you more refined knowledge to understand the world. There is always room for improvement in very field that is why our world is changing day by day it improvement afterall. Faculty have come together and find new and imaginative ways to teach so students can understand well. Per semester main exams difficulties are not there if you study not 8 hours a day but understand the concepts.

Teachers take classes almost everytime.The curriculum is also wuite comprehensive very useful for ugc net exams and future academic endeavors. The sessional exams are conducted every month first of the week

Placement Experience:

After completing my course their is less employment in our state and we have to go to other state as to work in my course it probably 20% out of 100 will get placement in our state and my plans are like I want to go deeper in my course

A short journey back to my Alma Mater

Course Curriculum Overview:

When pursuing my Bachelors degree i got to know more about the subject and got influenced to continue with the course. The course teaches us so many things about the Functioning, regulating, and embodiment of the government, which is intresting and helpful in day to day life. The study doesn't need any improvements rather it would be better the politicians who run our government should be exposed with the course's curriculum. Exam is held twice a year in Manipal excluding the internal exams and the weekly or monthly tests.

My Undergrad Experience at Sikkim University.

I chose this college because it was feasible and close to my state (Assam). It was the only central university close to my state which provided psychology honors. Honest my review

I had applied at jnu but did not got selected and few others but this university was closer to my home and Sikkim is a great place to study because of the people very good. I feel safe and secure had lots of fun. Ya I got rejected from jnu, maybe I was less prepared that is only reason afterall it is one of the best university Process was simple when I applied there I had to give entrance exam.
