Remarks

The college is designed around the students with their growth and development in mind. The college has a student first policy and it shows.

Entrance Preview

I was previously a student of this college for my Bachelors in Electronics Engineering, so I knew the college infrastructure and faculty would be excellent. The college is also easily reachable via cab or bus from my home and from the nearest railway stations. The extra effort the college and faculty put into developing its students in the form of value-added courses and extracurriculars is what really drew me back to VIT.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is set by the University of Mumbai under whom the college operates. As VIT is not an autonomous college it cannot change the curriculum. The curriculum has been recently updated to match trends in the industry. The college sticks to this curriculum, but at the same time providing more opportunities to learn and develop new skills through guest lectures based on the curriculum or otherwise, industry projects and value added courses.

Internships Opportunities

The college does provide opportunities for summer internships as well as industrial projects. Some have a fixed stipend while others don't. The college is forthcoming in these details and guides the students through the entire application and selection process.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement is good as I have good feedback from last learners.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is fixed for those admitted through the CAP process with separate fee structure for those belonging to reservation castes and minorities. There is facility for scholarships and concessions for students. The fees are appropriate for the infrastructure provided.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not availed any such facility but I know the college provides scholarships and concessions for travelling. The college provides students assistance with applications for these facilities.

Campus Life

5

The campus life and its events are a highlight of VIT. During my Bachelors as well as now during my masters there were many fun events and competitions, both co-curricular and extracurricular. There are 2 huge grounds for sports activities as welk as for cultural events. There are 3 canteens on campus with the main large canteen being centrally located on campus, a V Lounge cafe and a Smaller cafe on the college grounds. There are many large excellently maintained computer and other engineering labs throughout the college. The students have full access to these labs during working hours. There is a stocked library, large air-conditioned reading room and common use computer room in a dedicated building. All classrooms are air-conditioned. There are multiple washrooms on each floor for both genders. Cleanliness is taken very seriously at VIT.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I have no idea about the hostel facilities as I commmute from home.

Alumni/Alumna

The college takes great pride in its alumni and has created an online alumni network facility, where job opportunities are posted by seniors and alumni. The alumni also make an effort to bring placement opportunities to the college.

Exam Structure

There are 30 mark internal exams for each subject halfway through each semester. Other than that there may be either class tests or class assignments other than regular home assignments that help the professor judge how much the students have grasped what has been taught. The semester ends with 60 mark final exams. This exam structure is not stressful at all if the students attend lectures diligently and not leave studies to the last moment. It is designed to keep the information fresh in the minds of the students throughout the semester.

Admission

I gave the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAHCET) for management, after that, I registered for the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) which had three rounds of admissions through which seats in participating colleges were distributed based on merit. I secured a seat in VIT in the third round.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very experienced and respectable. They have great educational qualifications as well as industry experience which adds value to the teaching methodology. The faculty is always available and reachable. The faculty office has an open door policy and professors can be approached at any time and any number of times for any kind of help. The professors also provide advice and guidance in terms of further planning and career choices if asked for.

Placement Experience:

During my time the first company that visited our organization was Naukri.com, and feel proud to say that i got placed in the same organization. I am very happy with my placement. But talking about my peers. Number of companies who visited to our institute was compared to low as per our expectations. Majority of the companies who visited the institute were sales based organizations. Very less companies for finance and HR field. This made a difficult call for students.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.
