The course helps us with four basic core subjects like food production , food and beverage , front office operation and , Rooms division and two extra ciricular subjects per semesster , the food among all these is vast as it contains the most vital part of the industry though the syllabus is very vast and interesting , the goverment should enroll more practical classes for the students as the class hours for the theory is more where as the industry give more importance to the practical knowledge acquired by the students , The exam schedule is great and the follow same sequence every year but the gap for study in between the in exams is very frequent or no.

The college has to offer a great placement record which is one of the best in india with around 300-400 companies visiting every year in india and also there is good scope you can be hired by the goverment companies . The starting salary from the this is indistry is very low to make out your cost in mumbai but eventually you will have the time of your life if uou can migrate out india and earn a lot more depening on the section you choose and it has to offer job like of your choice the interviews are taken on certain aptitude tests which involes mostly mechanological and abstract test , a round of group discussion in your college and one evaluation day in the host property.

The students will have the option of many interviews like around 300-400 comming in around to scout students from ihm mumbai and you the interviews typically starts from 5th sem and you get your job before your exams. The tution fees is little bit higher as compared to the other states but it's acceptable compared to private college like IIHM etc, where the tution fees is much higher and if migrate for you studies in other states then it will cost you around 15 lakhs in India whereas in ihm you can get a better reputable degree in aorund 7-8 lakhs . You can collect the form of schilarship from the reception counter and submit the form and it would take you around 1-2 years to be verified . If you can also do part time odc both officially and unofficially in mumbai and earn around 15k per month while studying.they shoukd try to increase the duration of training in gov ihm to 6 months so tht they can easily do forieng interhsips.

The college in mumbai you wikl have great fun a lot of activies and fests through out the year the celeberstion like Ganpati , Onam , Cornocoupia etc , shivaji day , and lot more through out the year . Though the infrastructure and the the college have not been updated and moderated yet by the collge like other IHM but the the are currently working on it as this college is the oldest college in india 1954 and is the first ihm in india. But there is not involvment of the students in sports and extracurricular activities in sporting but indoor games tournaments gooes on around interschool and intercollege with around some famous sports like cricket and football once a year.

The eligibilty to the course is having a good nchm score if you are from general category , the reservation rank for Obc category starts around 1000 in round 1 and the application can be submitted online from nchm website the exam is around mid may and this year it 11th may so good luck guys , the difficult level is moderate and you can easily score below 500 if you practice and not study one month say atleast 1 hour each day and thats it you will strat a new carrier in your life ahead .the life here in mumbai is poplated but fancy in mumbai so if you want be excel in you carrer from mumbai you should only expect in food and beverage and food production.

As the students are so much the intercation between teachers and students are gery less compared to while we were studying school , and also their teaching style is very short and to the point not much extra knowledge is given , but clsses like food production and food and beverage the teachers are so experienced and the litterally have knowledge which is very extensive and they provide in details . The teachers are very experienced and well educated but there are some practices doine by the faculty that they are moving tecahers of the base depertamemt to other section which is difficult for eveyone to cope up with though everyone tries hard to make the students concept clear.
