IIT Hyderabad - A institution with a lot of potential to be in the top 4 Engineering institutes in India in the next 10 years.

The courses provided here specifically talking about civil engineering branch are the courses that are taught almost all over the engineering institutes . We are exposed to labs and practicals in the respective branches from the first year itself, which is handy for real life. Here fractal system is into practice which makes it very easy for the students to cope up with the semester exams. What is a fractal system you can search about in the Google. I think more labs and practicals must be introduced because it makes the understanding of the subject much better , which will benefit us in future. Also, frequency of the exams is medium, which can be handled by every kind of students and the timings of the exams are flexible, which helps a lot.

Internship opportunities are available in the campus. We get a good chance to get an internship in Japan as the campus has good contacts with Japan. Also exchange programs are present with the foreign universities. Based on your skills and interests the companies will select you as an intern . Stipends of 50k-150K are provided by the companies. You can also apply for research internship in institutes like IITs and NITs.

Campus placements are for final year students of Btech, Mtech, Integrated courses. Placements take place usually during the winter seasons (especially from December onwards). Last year the number of companies visited the campus were around 335 and offers provided were 621 . Top recruiters were Deloitte, Google, Oracle , L&T, Paytm etc,. Around 75% students were placed last year. Avg package was 210k INR with median 180K INR. I will surely try for an internship and then for placements, finers crossed. Future plans are there which will possible after some capital.

As per my knowledge the fees has been same since the last 3-4 years. The complete cost of education for the 4 years will be around 120k INR. Scholarships are usually for the reserved students and females , not for the general boys. So for reserved candidates there are lot of opportunities for scholarships.

The annual est of IIT HYDERABAD is Ealn&Nvision, which takes place every year during Feb-March. As per an IIT the fest can be upgraded a lot, hopefully the upcoming year will be a blast. Also, Milan is the sports fest of IIT HYDERABAD. Occasion DJ nights are conducted during every semesters, prom nights during Milan, competitions are organised by the clubs especially the music club , Vibes. For book lovers , there's a new library where new books are being allocated, so I think in a couple of months there will be no scarcity of books and journals, especially for UPSC aspirants. Internet is available all over the academic blocks , library, mess, hostels. Internet is not an issue here, the speed is quite great here. Students can take up any sports based on their interests. A new generation gym is present in the Sncc.

Single rooms are provided for all the students, except a single hostel named as Ramanuja. RCS is present to cool the rooms during summer days . Discussion on the mess food is debatable, most of us have an issue with mess food. Some days its good but most of the time the mess food especially lunch is quite pathetic. Breakfast is good providing every portion of nutrients. Dinner is also good comparatively. For day scholars, you have to stay either in Sangareddy town which is 6-7 kms from the campus or Hyderabad City which is 50-60 kms from the campus.

Jee advanced is the entry gate to an IIT as everyone knows. First , a student must clear the jee mains exam to sit for the Jee Advanced exam. To clear this exam , one must focus on the basics first along with the ncerts provided. After clearing the exam , you will provided with common rank list (and ig you have a reservation then you will also be provided with reserved catagory rank). Then through the Josaa councelling process you will be alloted to one of the colleges you have selected in the specific branch according to your rank.

The professors from each branch are highly qualified with enough experience to provide us the required knowledge needed for upcoming professional life. Most of them are quite friendly and we can approach them whenever we need any help. We need to just contact them through email and they will provide us the time for the meet . Also, students have beendoing projects from the first year itself under the designated professors. Also, for each branch there's a Professor alloted for mental health and well being and whenever we need help we can approach them. A professor is alloted to design the course and give us idea about the courses and which courses to take and which not to.Overall, faculty is quite good and friendly as per an IIT.
