Likes
- For sure, the newly enrolled students will get the new and supportive crowd. The teachers and even the staffs working in GNIOT are very helpful and encourages students from time to time. There's even an anti-ragging community for their protection.
Dislikes
- Most of the students that dislike about college is 75% attendance criteria. However, the college vibe is good but classroom is boring. They rather prefer studying by themselves and involving in college fests and other activities at the same time.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are 4 exams held in each session: 2 sessional exam, 1 pre-university test and final main exam. All the exams hold high significant value, and thus are mandatory to give. Computer science is considered as the best course after civil or mechanical engineering in aspect of placements. It's a fact that in today's time, one getting a good package is 80% in Computer Science field. Teaching method is not that good because of the class strengths.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee is 200000 and hostel fee is 90000 per year. For day scholar, bus facility is also provided. The bus fee is 23000 per year. Scholarship plan is also available for the brilliant students and they can get 90% scholarship in the college tution fee. Books charges are also included in the college fee. Award functions are also organised by some prestegious organisation who awards students who won the competition.
Campus Life
The college overall gives the positive vibe. Student also gets innovative and creative environment in GNIOT. Fests and inter - college competition is organised by college every year. It's fun collaboration for the students to make connection with people in other department and be aware about other engineering fields.
Admission
UPSEE exam is to be given to enroll in the engineering college. It's an MCQ exam in which questions from 3 subjects are included: physics, maths, chemistry. According to the rank the student gets in the exam, college is alloted to them along with the course. Application date, form, fee details are available on upsee official sites. There is management quota as well which can benefit students who are not financially stable.
Faculty
Most of the teacher teaching in college hold degrees from prestegious college such as NIT and IIT. The faculty to student ratio is 60:1 that is 1 teacher for 60 students, As mentioned earlier, students will prefer studying by themselves rather than staying in the classroom for attendance. Due to large strengths, teachers are unable to pay attention to each student and focus only on completing syllabus.
