Remarks

At last, you should go for the very first. That 'It depends on the student' An extraordinary bright mind who wants to go deep in the subject will find problems in the syllabus, teaching staff etc. An average but intelligent student( intelligent of course as he clears the entrance) will find everything peaceful. He will just borrow a book of some foreign writer of his core subject and goes on studying that only. A good studying environment everywhere. Also, it's Varanasi the city of knowledge. One may easily prepare for Entrance like SSC, UPSC, cat, jam etc. So for me its very good.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I think as a student the syllabus curriculum here in Institute of science, BHU is not up to the mark. I have seen some bright minds leaving college just because of its syllabus curriculum. ( I didn't leave as I already wrote the title "it depends on student", I am not a bright mind who wish to go deep into a subject and evolve something). But on a serious note, yes syllabus is not good. Let me explain, Firstly, in Physics the theory and practicals totally mismatch each other. Like, in theory, we study mechanics class 11th, relativity and in practicals I have to go for lcr circuit, logic gates, viscosity etc. (its rubbish). ( just for physics) Secondly, in theory, there is no system if you see the syllabus. ( for physics only) in maths and statistics kind of subjects, it is ok. Thirdly, BHU provides Hons degree and for two years here you have to study 3 subjects which I saw is disturbing for many students. Students having maths Hons or physics Hons keep on asking themselves why the hell I am finding cation or anion or doing a titration.

Placement Experience

0.5

Although there's no placement in a bachelor of science degree. But you may get placements in some masters degree like MSC statistics, MSC geophysics. And BHU is a huge university, there are many departments out there. Even IIT BHU. So you can imagine of placements in BHU 1.51 crore was highest this year in IIT BHU. There's no placement chart provided by I.sc bhu.

College Events

5

There are some events like one of the very famous in BHU. That is KASHIYATRA You can enjoy this 3 days event. You can take part in many events in kashiyatra, many quizzes etc. And Akasha event of an institute of science which runs for 20 days near about. Also, there's sports fest and all. The environment is very good.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees for B.Sc is as follows. College fee = 2842/- Hostel fee = 3180/- And then in the second semester, they took just 1505 rs from hostellers and 325/- from nonhostellers. So total year fee from hostellers is 2842+3180+1505= 7527/- And other expenses include Food. That is breakfast 20rs and lunch dinner 40/-. Nonveg is 60-80 rs( but provided 2-3 days a week.) So monthly it comes up to 3000/-

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't opt for any of such scholarships as they depend upon family annual income. But many students here opted for it. Like UP scholarship, inspire etc. And many are KVPY fellows.

Campus Life

3

This is the best part of BHU. Campus life is very very peaceful. You can find peace in a new Vishwanath temple. You can sit there for hours. The agriculture farm makes you feel like your village. And you can somewhat enjoy the life of an IIT as well. There's cafe coffee day inside the campus. The campus is awesome. Gender Ratio. It's about 10 girls per 100 students in BSC maths. And quite more girls in Bsc bio.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel fees are just rs 3180 for semester 1 and for semester 2 it is 1200. So in total its just about 4400/- yearly excluding food. And the facilities in the hostel are good. Two seater and three seater rooms are available. There is a common room having T.V. Guest rooms are there for residing guests.

Alumni/Alumna

Here senior students are very helpful in I.sc BHU. There's Zero ragging. And no sir calling system.

Admission

I cracked the entrance For B. Sc Maths Hons. The exam was on 13th May 2018. And results were announced on 20-25 June. A call letter was sent by the university on email. And they called me for counseling on 6th July with required documents. (Mere call letter doesn't mean that you are admitted, it depends upon various things like no. Of students attending counseling, cutoff etc). Also, BHU-UET doesn't provide any cutoff till 2018. But now onwards (2019)they will give a cutoff. In counseling day they asked you to submit your subject combination preference wise. Within 2-3 days you will be informed about the subject combination you get. And after this, they called me again on 14th July with original documents like t.c, migration etc. (for those who got admitted). Classes commenced from 22nd July. And there are different cutoff criteria for getting hostels in BHU. Some students get admission but didn't get hostels. They have to take a room outside campus and score well in 1 st year to get a hostel in 2nd year.

Faculty

2

The faculty is Ok. Some teachers are very good, some are really very bad. Some are marks oriented type like while teaching they just talk about marks. Some provide good knowledge. Some teach the only bookish language. Although its a BSc degree, so there's a lot of theory. So they are also bounded by the syllabus. But some are really good. Here what I observed is 70% are Ph.D. from BHU.

Course Curriculum Overview:

According to me you should choose Brahmanand College but as I wanted more practicals then theory work but it is not like that here because you get more time to study and practicals were less .Exams' timings were sometimes morning, afternoon so you will have to manage yourself accordingly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'd rate the curriculum 4/5. Topics like programing and data structures are super relevant.it prepares us for tech roles, but could include more hands on projects and industry tools. More focus on emerging tech like Ai /ML would be awesome. Exams are semester wise and okay.areas for improvement: internships, coding challenges, and guest lectures from pros. Solid foundation overall !

Course Curriculum Overview:

As the faculty teachers and all the staff was very good and the faculty teachers of the science were very fabulous in education causes me to choose this course... The curriculum here was in terms of social interaction was ok but it was not that good for the future real world academic pursuits as their were not that much activities for the social appearance... In terms of course curriculum and teaching method this college doesn't need much improvements because it is much better according to teaching method , as the teachers were good in terms of teaching... The timing and frequency was having much gap between one semester exam and the other semester exam , so there were not much difficulty in giving exams according to my perspective...
