Likes

Autonomous body. The professors usually come up with various experiment regarding the subject matter. Every year they teach new topics. That is
End semester marks is 30, and the class internal exam is 20. Total is 50. That seems to be less pressure for students
Enriched departmental libraries with full of books and photocopies available

Dislikes

The high society meetings, movements, protests can not reach out to the lower strata students in the university

Everything is good. Before CBCS was started there was no concept of pass paper in Jadavpur University. Each semester students can choose their elective paper. So if a student chooses different subjects in his 4 semesters then he will not get any pass paper certificate that willl entitle him about some specific subject

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 1235 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid my first admission fee of RS 1235/- For next 2 years I had to pay Rs. 900+ as admission and all other tuition fees Examination fees 48/- only There are SVMCM as per govt rules. In spite of being that there are Students Aid Fund to help needy students.

Campus Life

Festivals used to held in early summer. But convocation usually helds on 24th dec. Departmental library lends 3 books per week and central library lends 2 books per week. Central Library kiosk has technological support. People can use computer for information. Apart from that there is digital library access

Admission

A minimum marks to be got in the Higher Secondary. Preference would be given those who had already studied the subject in HS kevel. When I get the chance go to JU. At that time no admission test was conducted. Now JU conducts admission test.

Faculty

Every faculty has PhD as their minimum qualification. I was shy so I couldn't communicate with them properly. The professors preferred to be surrounded by the smart English speaking south Calcuttan boys and girls. Not by the shy Bengali medium students. Having said that, I can say some bengali medium students also get courage to talk to them

The field tricks are done sometimes to make us understand the reality and the course is really good. I love that and the field trip helps us a lot to explain and to learn things that happening around us and foods are provided from the school or sometimes on trips, I'm really happy with my college.

A place to enhance skills

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because it has lots of scope in future to get a job and also it is a good subject or my National language. In this college lots of faculty has been given to the students. Well, I am also a new student but I can say that all teaching and non teaching staff and also the office staff are very humble to the students and they help us a lot. I am in B.A. 1st year student and lots of faculty has been given by our beloved teachers and office staff. The teachers are very humble by nature and the way they taught us is really mind blowing I am very grateful that I am a student of those teachers. In every 6 months, you have to give one semester examination and as I already told you that I am a new student and my exam is in February month so I do not have experience with the paper and how difficult it to pass but I can say you read properly you can pass the exam in Good marks.

Review of Jadavpur University

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
