Course Curriculum Overview
CSE is a highly in demand course and at the same time dynamically changing . Some of the courses were of core nature while some courses like AI and ML needed more attention and importance. Exam cycle was also very rigid and faculties hardly did any experimentation with the way they can assess the students.
Internships Opportunities
for internship, mostly we had to apply on our own. A few of our batchmates got internship offers from Germany. A lot of them applied in small software companies . Minor and major projects are compulsary which is largley for namesake. Few professors took the projects very seriously and guided the students a lot.
Placement Experience
companies start hiring from the final year i.e 7th and 8th semester. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Mu sigma, coal India etc visited the campus. 6-7 lakh was the average package and went as high as 25 lakh. In CSE discipline, almost 90 % students got placed. In other disciplines, the placement percentage is low. I joined Coal India Limited as MT (Systems). I was given two offers (other from Mu sigma)
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fee increased from Rs 40000 per annum to Rs 160000 per annum in just 2 years to match the fee structure of other autonomous instititutes but one can secure educational loans easily and scholarships based on merits for eg. for reserved category students, state govt provides scholarships.
Campus Life
annual festival- Eclectica (March) , Technical festival- AAVARTAN (April), The library is pretty good and it has a good collection of paperback as well as e-books. Classrooms were getting renovated during our time . So for new entrants, classes will be airconditioned, furnished with projectors. Labs were also renovated. Campus had all the basic sports facilities and ground. There are different literary societies like dance, drama , entrepreneurship etc. Some incubation centres for entrepreneurial ventures as well
Hostel Facilities
Rooms were triple sharing in the first two years and then single and double sharing rooms in final year. Meal quality was below average and mess committee was hardly effective. Menu is diverse contains veg non-veg both. Hostel is subject to availability and not available to everyone. Lot of rooms and PG are available nearby as it is in the heart of the city for eg DDU Nagar, Samta colony, Kota etc.
Admission
On the basis of IIT JEE Mains, cut offs are decided . there is a proper counselling process based on which colleges and courses are alloted as per candidate's secured rank. Reservation benefits are available as it is a govt institute.
Faculty
In CSE discipline, there is a need for more young and energetic faculty team which can sync itself to the needs of industry, which was missing in the college as most of the professors treat this like just another government job and were interested in completing their Phds.
