Life of a biotechnology student at NIET

I choose this course because I didn't wanted to do medical but I have taken biology so I was left with this option only and also I thought it would be interesting to go into industry because I am interested in that type of jobs. Some topics are getting repeated every semester and in more than one subject so they can delete that and add more subjects like food technology, drug discovery etc.

The fee structure is for the first year it is around 1 lakhs 50 to 60 thousand right now and after that for second, third and fourth year it is around 1 lakhs 20 thousand. The students can apply for UP government scholarships if they have taken admission by counselling and also to national scholarships.

The campus life is boring. Their is no concerts pr DJ nights infact their is no night event. One event of Diwali that is JAGMAG is held in campus ground that to in day time and all other small event are held in auditorium only. Sanskriti bollywood day earth day singing dancing competition etc everything is held in auditorium. Zonals are their for sports lover and sports fest twice in a year. Tech Fest is also organised twice a year in which various clubs organise coding contests etc. Hackathon, design thinking challenge etc is their. Basically colleges celebrate only event which is related to study.

Hostel facility is good like there is no fancy accommodation but the feeling of waking up 10 minutes before and then also reaching on-time in class is good. Mess food is ok they have variety of foods whole week but eating same thing every week's becomes boring and repetitive. Washing machine is there but you need to scan and pay before using it. There are three seater room with non-attachment washroom and attachwashroom. Cooling and non cooling rooms. Cooling rooms have air ducts and their charge is 10 thousand extra than non-cooling rooms.

I have taken admission by UPCET score though counselling and they take admission over 75% in class 12th through direct admission. The semester exam is held at gap of 5 months and three sessionals are taken during a semester. Along with this internal and external practical of laboratory subject are also there.

The faculty to students ratio is good like in class of 55 or 60 every student is focused by the teachers. The faculty are mostly doctorate degree holders. The presentation system is used for study like they provide PPT of every unit to us and teach in class with that and also share extra content regarding the topics with us and provide notes for the same. 15-17 students are alloted under every teacher-like a mentor for these students and we can share everything with our mentor and project guide regarding anything.
