My life as a SLS, Pune student

The assignment and the tests that are given are mostly reality or mock scenario based. Moreover even some assignments are given based on what we would need to work on during internships such as drafting and analysis reports on topics or laws.

Our college keeps updating us with any available internships for our breaks and also have designated internship opportunities as per your college year as some need senior years and their subject expertise however some are open for all batches mostly from government institutions. And later even conduct an internship presentation and report to learn about what they have done and studied during their time interning.

Students are eligible for placements after 3rd year and the college assits them in whatever way possible via mock interview and GD and guide us for our CVs as well. This year the highest package was of 12,00,000 and the lowest going to 8,00,000. Our college also has a culture of pre placement offers which is very common in our college.

The college keeps us updated about the scholarships as majority of students are there from well do backgrounds so not a lot of people are keen about it moreover the overall fee structure is around 2,70,000 and 1,20,000 if you take a hostel.

Our college fest symbhav is Pune's biggest college fest in which we have participants from colleges around india and we have artists attending our fest ranging from farhan akhtar to mohit chauhan and even shaan. The college also encourages us to participate in various fest along with academic related events such as mock trails and arbitration events as well.

Law students are only allowed to stay in the hostels for their first 2 years and will have to shift to either flats or PGs which are also expensive due to the college policy for us. As for the hostels there is only one boys hostel and 3 girls hostel which are bigger than boys one.

The college has its own entrance exams which is known as SLAT (Symbiosis Legal Aptitude Test) which consists of legal, Aptitude and language test which is 1.5 hours long. The cutoff is based on the average marks scored by the participants and different for general and SC/ST as well as OBC.

The faculty is very knowledgeable about their subjects and the college provided us with 2 professors each one for BBA and BA students. Some of the young professors who are teaching us are also pursuing their masters and majority of our professors are either from NLU or Well reputable government or private colleges.

There is a PI (Personal Interview) in which the faculty members are mostly the Interviewers and ask questions related to your hobbies or background along with some questions related to current affairs and even legal aptitude and basic laws and also ask you to make a basic CV from which they ask some questions as well.
