Course Curriculum Overview

4

My main objective was to excel in medicine and surgery so choosing MBBS was my right choice. We are given clinical postings from the 2nd year which helps us build a good doctor-patient relation and improve our communication skills. The things which I would like to improve on would be including less theoretical knowledge and more practical knowledge. The exams are conducted well in time with sufficient study leaves before the exam.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

After completion of 4.5 years of MBBS course, the junior doctors must go through one year of compulsory internship in the same hospital. They will be provided with a salary of Rs. 30000 as per the pay structure set by the college.

Placement Experience

4

After the completion of 9 semesters, students join the internship program in which they are paid Rs. 30000 per month, following which students must clear another entrance exam to the PG seats. The highest package offered varies with choice of course and is not fixed but all the candidates earn 12 times higher than the national average salary. Usually 100% placement is provided. My plan is to pursue an MD in any of the medicine and allied subjects

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee is set by the government so it is far less compared to any other medical college. The total cost of MBBS in my college for 5.5 years is Rs. 5856. Hostel fees are nil with free electricity and free water throughout the course. Mess fees are about Rs. 4300 per month. A lot of scholarships are provided to students from an economically weaker sections of the society which can be availed in the government website for scholarships. Interns are paid Rs. 30000 per month while residency doctors earn up to Rs. 90000 per month

Campus Life

4.5

The annual fest in AIIMS Nagpur is called Hallucia which is a 5-day programme with a lot of events from dancing, singing, drama, and sports. Celebrities across India are invited to perform in the fest. Hallucia usually takes place in the month of October. A library has been provided which contains thousands of medical books for both UG and PG students. The books can be borrowed between 8 am to 8 pm. Inside the classroom, two projectors and a large LED screen are available for presentations. Speakers throughout the classroom and the faculties are provided with microphones. A lot of sports and extracurricular activities are performed in the college ranging from football to basketball, cricket, from dancing to singing. There are two gyms on the campus. The college has a student council which takes care of all the events taking place.

Hostel Facilities

4

The room provided is a double sharing. For each student, there is a study table, a cushioned chair, a bed, a shoe rack, a cupboard with mirror, and shelves. The common washroom is present at the end of the corridor. Meal is provided to students 4 times a day. The menu is revised every 2 months by the mess committee. To register for a hostel, contact the warden. Hostel fees are zero is all MBBS students. If hostel facilities are not to be availed by the student, there are rented rooms in Shiv Kailasa just outside the campus at a distance of 100 metres from the entrance gate.

Admission

Eligibility of MBBS is the candidate has to score at least the 50th percentile in NEET (UG) for the general category while it is the 40th percentile for the OBC and SC categories. The application form is available on the NTA official website nta.nic.in, application fees and dates are provided along with it. Reservation benefits could be availed by attaching the appropriate caste certificate with your application form. The exam is held once every year on the 1st Sunday of the month of May from 2:00 pm to 5:20 pm. The exam is moderate in difficulty but the level of competition makes it harder to crack as only 3.6% of the candidates get an MBBS seat. The admission process is usually smooth and hassle-free.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty to student ratio is 1:125 which I think is better than many medical colleges. Faculties are well qualified with a lot of experience in teaching profession. Teachers are approachable and help us with our problems

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course because I wanted to become doctors from most prestigious college of India. I didn't get seat in AIIMS Delhi so then I choose this college as it is near my home town. The students faculty ratio is 70:12. All the faculty are passed out doctors so they are highly qualified and they teach us in such a way that no need to ask for any doubts. The university conducts exams after every 3 months and we all have to work very hard to pass the exams.
