- Lush green and big campus with over 30000 academicians residing within the campus. One will meet students with diverese academic background considering various courses the university provides.
Dislikes
- Infrastructure remains a huge challenge. Most of the faculties are incompetent to get their students placed. Syllabus and curriculum reform is must.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum needs to be reviewed. Although NEP will be implemented in the upcoming session. Since the university is very old, most curriculum cater to the past and has lost relevance in today's day and age. However, changes in the curriculum have been proposed and are expected to be implemented soon.
Fees and Financial Aid
BHU being a central university has a minimal fee structure. For the B.COM (Hons.) one will be asked to pay about 1800rs. a year. Usually fee for odd semester is more than that of even semester. The 1800rs may be bifurcated as (1300+500).
Campus Life
Campus life might seems good when compared with other universities. One will not see active participation in clubs, annual fests and functions. Although, the university provides for a library at each faculty, one central library and one cyber library. With the central and cyber library accessible 24×7.
Hostel Facilities
There are about 40 seats for B.COM. although the number of seats is proposed to be increased in the future. You will be offered a double occupancy room. Each room has two beds, two tables-chairs, one or two cupboard. Furthermore, there is 24×7 running electricity, tap-water and wifi facilities. The mess food quality is decent. Hostel fee is about rs.3000
Admission
Before the commencement of CUET, BHU used to conduct its own entrance test, however since the advent of CUET it admits its students via the entrance test conducted by UGC and NTA. Reservations policy is the same. The duration of the entire admission process is long, it moreover delays the admission process and eventually impact the duration of the course later. Such irregularities may be solved.
Faculty
Faculties are highly competent, although faculty-to-student ratio impacts the quality of education. Having said that, the communication between faculties and students is possible and appreciated. They are helpful.
