Course Curriculum Overview

4

We had core literature subjects + linguistics + translation studies + a minor elective where we could choose any language as an assistive subject (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, German, Sanskrit, Spanish or French). The teaching methods for my specialisation were really synergetic, the teachers really knew how to plan the curriculum and field of studies they should cover for the respective topics. We also have seminars frequently and class presentations really helped in enhancing my knowledge in the field of study, along with soft skills and fighting the fear of public speaking.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Not much clue about internships since I didn't seek for any. This was same as placement opportunities I think, and you had to get in touch with a faculty member for this. I'm sure some small startup companies offered full time internships for content writing etc for a small stipend (for eg 30,000 per month). I didn't think it was worth it, so I was more focused on academics.

Placement Experience

3

I never really sought for placements since my course provided more opportunities when you go for higher studies. A few of my classmates did get placed with an average package of about 3-5LPA. Majority of the students were concerned about doing their masters and finding a good college rather than placements (my department, at least)

Fees and Financial Aid

The semester fees for the first year were around a lac (a difference of 20k here and there). Decreased in the second and third year, but I still would say that the fees are expensive since I took hostel accomodation as well. I think they also offer scholarships in the first year of you maintain your GPA above 8.

Campus Life

4

Social life was always good in the university, there was always something happening. Fests were always really grand - go all out types but security and management systems were kinda poor. The academic co-curriculars were also very fun and interesting. These activities were really helpful especially for introverted students who were hesitant in participating in public activities that required addressing mass audiences, performing, participating, engaging etc.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Hostel was not upto the mark. You weren't allowed outside the campus except on Thursdays and weekends, which for it too, you had to inform your parents. And if you wanted to stay outside overnight, you had to get this approval from your parents. They had really strict timings for allowing you outside and coming back in. Sometimes they would give you an ultimatum that you had to participate in this and that activity to earn your permit from the warden to go outside. They would cancel your pass for the tiniest of things, such as being late for attendance. The hostel rooms were so cramped and small. They turned on the AC only during specific timings - 6pm to 6am. The food served in the cafeteria was also bad and unhygienic (we have had cases of finding insects in the food). Fees were also extremely overpriced.

Admission

The admission process was hectic, I had a senior student accompany in the whole event. The admin people were somewhat rude/unapproachable and we had moments where we were running in circles from one desk to another. Moreover, there was always this cloud over clarity in notifying public announcements. I wasted over 25000 in flight tickets just because the university took their sweet time in confirming the mode of classes during peak covid. There was also so much hassle in identifying which documents were required and no one really assisted properly. My freshman year was really exhausting because of this.

Faculty

4

Our faculty members were absolutely the best. You could approach anyone at any time and they were always ready to help you with whatever they could. Not really sure how this would apply to other departments, but our faculty really put in efforts in preparing study materials and PPTs for the day and actually were invested in teaching rather than reading out the slides.

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith - [MGKVP], Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Education)
Reviewed on Feb 17, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA curriculum in my college at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP) for the 2025–2026 academic year is structured under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, making it academically comprehensive but traditionally theoretical. It follows a six-semester system that offers a wide range of subjects, from core Humanities (History, Political Science, Hindi) to modern electives and Vocational courses (e.g., Nutrition, Yoga, or Digital Literacy), providing students with a multidisciplinary framework. In terms of relevance, the syllabus is exceptionally well-suited for students aiming for government services and competitive exams (UPSC/UPPSC), as the depth of social science subjects mirrors the state and national civil service patterns. However, its professional comprehensiveness is lower; while the curriculum includes internal assessments, presentations, and project work to build soft skills, the actual delivery remains focused on rote learning and theory rather than industry-ready practical training. Consequently, the course is highly relevant for an academic or administrative career path but requires significant self-supplementation (internships or external skill-building) for those seeking immediate roles in the private sector.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is well structured, relevant, and comprehensive. One of the main reasons I chose this course was its balanced syllabus, which includes both theoretical concepts and practical applications. The curriculum is designed in a way that builds a strong foundation in core subjects while also introducing advanced topics gradually. This helps students understand subjects deeply rather than just studying for exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My Biggest reason to choose this subject to I like art related work,so I choose this subject. One advantage of doing this subject is that along with art,you can learn a lot from other social and cultural aspect as well. There is a need to make some improvements in this subject such a a course should be of shorter duration and the syllabus should be made a little shorter. Whatever the exam, the subject should be made a short subject with less duration and should not be of long duration.
