Remarks
Good thing about the college is that it's very strict and runs by certain principles. The placement rate is high and for the past two consecutive years ,on record, this college has maintained number 1 rank among all the other colleges in Rajasthan. The faculty members are unbiased and supportive and the college provides an ideal environment for book worms.Negative thing about the college is that it's way too strict than required and is demotivating for students who are into extra curricular activities like sports etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite orthodox that is ,it hadn't been updated since a decade untill now they have started making small changes for the freshers. They have even introduced a new subject related to the latest topic 'AI' which is quite amusing, but the college is more into theory than practical study which is a negative point in my opinion. It creates a lack of imagination and the student is compelled to stay resided within a bookish world.Talking about the exam structure ,the college is very serious and firm about it ,they conduct regular mid terms for each subject and there is viva for practical exams as well so that's a good culture the college has adopted and has been following for the past 20 years now.Talking about my experience with the overall process, well it has indeed taught me how to stay calm even in the presence of immense pressure, how to conduct myself in a manner that all my work is completed within the given hour and thereby indirectly gave me a glimpse of office culture.
Placement Experience
The placement rate of this college is extremely highy which is a good thing and every year the numbers are increasing at a high pace but the negative thing is that most of the prestigious companies let's say 80% of the companies are IT based companies which demand coding so if one is not having good command over coding so that person will have a problem there. In short the scope for CSE and IT students are higher as compared to the other brances (ME,CE).
College Events
My title itself answers this question. This college is much more into studies and less into extra curricular activities which is a major drawback of this institution. They give more importance to books than the games and other cultural activities.Throughout the year there is only one week where they conduct an event known as the PRAVAH event which is conducted in the month of february and it includes all the competitions , games, activities ,awards etc .Apart from this one week the whole year is just classroom and studies. In my first year there was not even the fresher's party or any such event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The college fees is quite decent as compared to any other college .It's around 35-40 thousand per semester on an average which is a common range now a days.Apart from this there is bus fees as well which depends on the distance of college from your residence. For instance my residence was 30 kms away and it used to cost me 25,000/- rs for a complete year which is again a decent range.
Fees and Financial Aid
No i didn't opt for any scholarship or educational loan and thereby i am not aware of any way or medium of availing one.
Campus Life
The campus life is ideal for studious students and specifically for parents who are worried about their children. This college maintains high strictness and is completely unbiased. The gender ratio is even and properly distributed in all branches. There is not much involvement of any sort of extra curricular activity.Although there are different types of clubs which are don't run on a regular basis. There are different clubs like music club ,acting club etf which the student geta to choose in the first year only and at a time the student can select only 2 clubs and these clubs are run only on Wednesdays after the college hour.Talking about the labs , they're well maintained and are kept at good conditions but there are certain labs which have got few apparatus not in the proper working condition which causes a major hindrance in practical knowledge.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni and the seniors are very helpful and are highly respectful towards juniors. And this college is strictly against ragging so any sort of ragging isnot at all tolerated and the person held responsible is severely punished so again the seniors are compelled to refrain themselves from any sort of misbehavior towards juniors.
Admission
So i had just passed my 12th and was ready to take a few competitive exams and being a pcm student, the first one was the JEE mains for obvious reasons. Then i was prepared for the next one that is the RTU paper, that is a general paper just like JEE but for regional colleges, but that year (2015) a new rule had been rolled out.According to this rule ,the RTU papers were no more being conducted and the college selection criteria was being selected from our JEE marks. So we didn't have to take any separate exam for that and finally i got selected for this college through merit that is of JEE marks obtained.
Faculty
The faculty is quite good in context of teaching. The faculty is completely unbiased and is not at all lenient which is a good thing, but there are cases where this non leniency of teachers and not so supportive attitude proves to be a problem specifically for students who have a genuine issue. For instance the college is very strict with the attendance maintenance thing and they even debar the students from taking the exams if appropriate attendance is not maintained but there are situations when a student has a serious issue let's say the student has got a fracture and has been advised to take rest.So in such a situation instead of sparing the student's attendance the college rather debars him or her and doesn't allow him to take the exam.In short what they expect is no matter how critical your condition is you have to maintain the attendance.
