Course Curriculum Overview
The well distributed subjects and its combination that prepares the students with integrated course and its vast arena that increases the flexibility in further course of career. The course come with the main core course as well as related important subjects, example: MSc Biotechnology course has Microbiology, Biochemistry, Medical Genetics as well as other subjects of similar interest. The subject requires more of activity than theory. The internal exams are quite frequent hence to keep up untill the semesters as well as assignments sometimes become tough.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since, it is a private Deemed to be University, the fee structure to its course are quite reasonable. The institution comes with scholarship programs too. The downpayment for admission is compulsory which includes the 1st semester fees and admission charge only. The PhD program comes with stipend around 30k to 40k based on projects and the classes they take as lab assistants.
Campus Life
Clubs and social accounts, student interactive portals on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook is a go to. There is Goonj a house event where different houses of the respective institution under NITTE have competitions and displays. NITTE also executes Flash mobs, keeping in pact with different programs association, example: Flash mob based on Marine health and it's life conservation. The Fest of Nitte, the NuChrome is a multi participantion event where different colleges in and around mangalore are invited to participate and enjoy a 3 day long eventful occasion. Namaste Karnataka involves different college in Karnataka to come together and showcase their talents. Annual sports day and House sport events are also an essential part of curriculum. Honestly, library has only academic collection, example, NUCSER library has only science journals, magazines and books and NICO library has books on communication.
Admission
The eligibility asks for 50% in the previous course's subject for application. Application form, dates and applications details along with elaborate descriptions of the course for which you apply is given on its official website. Reservation for PWD is available. The frequency of examination are 2 internals in 2 consecutive month followed by semesters, keep the students in touch with their topics and access better grip over the subjects. The admission process could have come up with more lab visits or videography of different institutions under NITTE.
Faculty
The professors and their qualifications are far appreciable. The personal achievements of the professors are highly dignified. The college tends to secure prestigious marks now and often in different scientific accomplishments. However some of the professors are more mechanical and tend to be less flexible according to student psychology. Faculty to student ratio is 1:3 Designated Teachers are assigned mentors to students and hence are free to interact with regarding academic as well as personal well being.
