Course Curriculum Overview

5

I have been deeply influenced by our foreign minister Mr. S. Jaishankar. The way he conducts himself at foreign stages and the proud that Indian diaspora feels today, I felt this is the best course to learn about international relations. Not just in politics but in business too international relations matter and that is why many industries today hires students today from our batch our course not only teaches us international relations but also economics too.

Placement Experience

4.5

Final year all students are asked to apply for placements and all the corporate that deals with foreign companies come to our campus. Organizations like Aditya Birla Group, KEI Industries, Skoda and others have hired students from our batch last year and from what I have learnt many new corporates have joined hands with our university to hire students of our course.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is around One lakh Fifty thousand but I got minority scholarship and therefore I got 25% discount in my fees. Similarly their are many such scholarships that can help you manage the cost of education but having said that St Joseph University isn't that expensive.

Campus Life

4.5

SJU maybe better known for academics but at the same time it is also known for hosting some of the best events in the city. Out of all the fests Utsaah and Panex are my personal favourites as both of them gives students a chance to showcase their skills apart from studies.

Admission

Cut-offs for our course goes all the way up to 80 percentage as even though there are 100 seats but demand for our course is high. Yes, 30-40% seats are reserved but rest all are given on merit. For reserved class too merit is quite high so one has to score well to get at SJU. Difficulty level is obviously very high as we will be representing our country or organisations at international stage so the course is tough.

Faculty

4.5

Overall there are 500 or more faculties in SJU and around 6000 students. So 1 faculty for 12 students is the ratio and I believe it's an amazing ratio. All faculties hold dual degrees and most of them have their PG programs done from top colleges like London School of Economics or the Babsons College.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
