LIFE IN GGDSD COLLEGE, chandigarh

Sd collège is one of the best college affiliated to panjab university in chandigarh. The syllabus is very insightful here plus so many subjects to choose from like public administration, history, punjabi. One best thing is that they also offer diploma courses along with BA programme I did diploma in french which was a 2 year course our french teacher did her degree from paris france neetu mam. they also offer diplomas in child psychology , urdu and so on. Exams happen every 6 months. teaching methods i dont think needs to be improved however class timings can be changed as first class starts at 8 Am which makes it a little hectic.

Honestly this is one of the drawbacks! There are no placements offered, However course fee is quite reasonable 26k per year making it 76k for entire course , examination fee is charged september 2k- 3k around per semester. There are scholarships provided too but im not really aware of it. There are different groups made in our campus like psychology group which conducts trips and they also provide internship opportunities.

We have youth festival and my college has won youth fest quite a few times specially in bhanghra. freshers party is conducted every year with a ticket of 300? only. Psychology club is one the most happening club and there are numerous other clubs we also had treasure hunt conducted in college. Infrastructure is good and there are also sanitary pads machine in every girl's wasroom. NCC clubs are also there.

The cut off for my course was 80% and my admission happened in covid times it was an online process and since these colleges are under Panjab university you get to choose from various colleges like MCM, DAV, Pggc 11, and other government college. I chose ggdsd college since my father and chachu did their graduation from this college as well. It is a named college and seminars are conducted here every semester.

Yes all the teachers hold PHD degrees, our sociology teacher swapandeep mam she is a PHD holder and is very friendly and hwr teaching style is quite effective. Evn psychology teachers are very helpful and friendly they have thorough knowledge of their subjects and clear all the queries and also tell us about extra things related to subject and how can we connect subjects like sociology and psychology to real life
