Likes
- Teachers of Computer Department are very friendly to their students. They have great knowledge about the subjects they teach. Also teachers are very helpful and cooperative.
- Computer Labs are great. They have all softwares installed according to the curriculum.
- Trips are arranged by students that are fun. Also multiple functions also are hosted.
Dislikes
- Campus is small in size. There is space that is wasted that can be used for good.
- Hygiene is big issue. Campus is clean and green. But they do not take care of washrooms for boys.
- There is not timing restriction which can be both good and bad.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum for BCA is great. All necessary software and applications are given in syllabus. Also Panjab University is well recognised and respected University in comparison to other Universities present in Punjab such as PTU. But it would have been great if they included Python in the Syllabus.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yearly Fees of Kamla Lohtia college in BCA program is nearly about 50 Thousand Rupees. And total program fees is approximately 1.5 Lakh Rupees. Bright students are given fees concessions. Fees payment is divided into 3-4 installments per year. But it is in the hand of students if they wanna pay full fees at once or wanna pay it in installments.
Campus Life
Overall campus experience is okay for me. There are many activities organised for the students in the campus. Recently Zonal Youth Fest for ludhiana was hosted by our college and it was a delight. I don't really like to participate in these activities as i am a little introvert but it is good to watch others have fun.
Admission
It was a very simple admission process for me. Minimum Required Percentage is 50 percent for BCA. I had 66 percent so i got no trouble. I simply submitted my required documents, paid my fees. The thing I don't like about admission process is unnecessary fees for prospectus. In order to take admission, you have to take prospectus worth 500 Rupees which is technically do not have any use.
Faculty
Each and every teacher in the college is very well qualified. The computer department teachers such as Mr. Gaurav Joshi has done MCA, M.Phil. Ms. Divya Sandal Mam has done M.Sc. (IT), MCA. There are more teachers that are also very well qualified. There way of teaching and dedication towards it is commendable.
