Course Curriculum Overview
The course I am pursuing in Bachelors of Arts in Economics. I have always had a keen interest towards economics due to the diverse and interesting curriculum. The curriculum taught in the University is based on the real life situations and helps us to tackle some important issues like inflation, deflation. It also provides knowledge about the Market and about investment scenario. Although the course is beneficial in many way, but sometimes the course is very huge and unnecessary. Some topiscs may be cut out or only the jist of the topic should be taught. There are 2 exams held in every semester; mid semester exam and final exam. The syllabus for mid semester exam is sometime to much. The marking pattern is good, but we can't see our final examination answer scripts. Moreover sometimes tge results take too long to be declared.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee is very less as it is government run institution. It has not increased in the past three years. The complete cost incurred on my education is nearly 20,000 - 25,000 in the past three years. The University also helps students to avail some scholarship one of which is the Ishan Uday Scholarship. The University also provides reservation for teacher faculty graduating from the same University.
Campus Life
There are various societies and Club in the University, like the Business and Finance Society, Literary Club, Football Club etc. Various events organised in the University throughout the year, across departments. The annual week of the college is organised in January-February. The library provides a well air conditioned rooms for students to study. The availability of books in the library is however not satisfactory. The classroom are not well equipped with mics or any other digital form of providing education. There are only few classes in the departments that have a projector screen.
Admission
The Eligibility criteria for applying for this course was 12th pass. When I enrolled in 2021 the admission was based on the marks scored in class 12th. The cut-off was 90% for general category. Currently the University is taking addmission on the CUET exam basis for UG, CPGEE, which is Cotton University's own entrance exam for post graduation and baser on class 10th marks for Higher Secondary.
Faculty
The college has a huge number of faculty members who have received their degree from reputated universities, like Jawahar Nehru University, Hungarian University, Stanford etc.. The approach of teaching method is useful to the students. Teachers provide notes and other important credentials like PPT, current affairs, any recent development related to the topics etc. The University also a Mentorship program where the students intaract with their Mentors(Teacher) to address any issue related to academics or any personal problem with the teachers. The approach of teachers in the class room is also very good, with effective question answers session, the teachers makes the class interactive and interesting.
