Likes
- The College campus is big enough with different departmental buildings for different Honours. Kanika Library, Indoor/outdoor gym, cafeteria, tennis club, everything is available for college students.
- In most of the dept. Like ours in CS dept rooms are fully air conditioned with smart board for practical and comfort learning zone.
- Teachers are well versed about current market technology needs and taught us the same and also invite us to clear our doubts
Dislikes
- This year means in 2024, placement scene was not good because very companies came like Deloitte, Accenture, PWC, Verizon, TCS, Genpact
- There is no pre-placement training, whatever we have achieved in any company through placements by only sake of own readiness
- Food availability is hardly can be said to yes within college because in cafeteria the food available are not fresh which can lead to health issue
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is not that modern based, we are taught the same old based syllabus of past 10 years. It can be improved to make us learn market ready professional skills and technologies. For semesters the syllabus is enough but for own skills I learned from various other sources like YouTube or some websites, etc.
Placement Experience
After 5th semester for BSc level courses, students can seat for placements for various companies like Accenture, Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Genpact, Capgemini, Vois, Verizon, Cocentrix, PWC, Piramal finance, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, etc. In 2024, more than 100 students grabbed the placement opportunity including me ( I got placed at Deloitte as an Associate Analyst ). The average package is Rs. 3.5 Lakhs/annum and Highest is 5 lakhs/annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fee for each year is Rs. 25000 with some additional 1k or 2k for library, etc kind of charges. For each semester exam fee would be Rs. 250 Various scholarships are available in each semester for various categories like SC, ST, OBC, Physically Handicapped, simply you need to apply them at Administrative Building, you will be funded within 2 months.
Campus Life
Almost in every 1 month a function organised in our campus. Sports week used to happen in month of November each year and also other celebrations like Independence Day, Holi, Diwali, everything used to organised in our college in an awesome manner. Kanika Library is the library with many books on different subjects. E- Resource library is occupied with more than 100 PC with Powerful setup and also 30 Pcs are Apple MAC Computers and rest are windows i5 12th gen PCs, with wifi connectivity anyone can learn anything without any problem. Classrooms are well furnished with Air conditioner and smartboard for digital learning. There are various clubs who organised blood camp in hostels, and NCC bootcamp, etc. I enjoyed a lot during my entire 3 year degree at Ravenshaw.
Admission
For BSc level courses the merit list formed on the basis of 12th grade. You need to apply for admission in the official website of Ravenshaw University and based on your 12th percentage a merit list will be published on website with a date for counseling. Once released, visit the campus with Rs. 27000. For MSc and MCA students, admission can be only done on the basis of the score in OJEE or CTET. There is also a reserved seat in each Honours subject. The admission process starts in August and ends in November.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 10:30. Most of the faculties almost in all department are well qualified and professional in their field to provide quality education to us, but due to old syllabus pattern modern market based skills are not taught in class that's the major issue, rest everything is well n good. Faculties are always ready to clear our doubts and often give tasks to complete and to check also. Each and every faculty are good in interaction with students and make us feel comfortable in class so that we won't hesitate to ask any of our doubts.
