What Students Say
Likes
- The faculty of GCET is one of the strongest assets. The professors are not highly knowledgeable but also with strong dedication to teach and communicate with students.
- Another thing about GCET which I liked is its vibrant and inviting campus. The college offers a wide range of extracurricular activities and student organizational clubs that caters to diverse interests.
- GCET has strong ties with the industries which plays significant role in emphasis on the career of students. The college organises frequent industrial visits, guest lectures, workshops which bridge the gap between academics and real-world scenarios.
Dislikes
- Non-AC classrooms are actually an issue in Summers causing discomfort in the process of learning.
- The strict time-table of the GCET causes a lot of problems inviting lack of time-management and self-study.
- The college also needs to improve its administrative processes like fee refund, registration, etc. There are instances of long waiting times and lack of communication, where students have to suffer and it gets frustrating.
Course Curriculum Overview
According to my perspective, course curriculum is a bit impractical as most of the devices which we are studying are outdated which makes syllabus insufficient for us to contact with the real-world applications. But the ferquent guest-lectures, seminars and workshop provides a bridge between these two gaps. While choosing the course, my aim was to be an aspiring electronics and communiction engineer. The college needs to work on its outdated syllabus as it does not helps students to relate with the practical-scenarios of the industry world. The ferquency and timing of exams are almost good and are helpful in showcasing the intelligence of the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees is constant for all four years which is declared at the time of the admission. It generally ranges from 95,000/- to 1,15,000/- rupees per year. At the time of admission gthe extra securoity deposit of Rs. 5000/- is required which is completely refundable after the completion of the degree. College does not provide any kind scholarship to students but it supports its students to get State-Scholarships depending on their states. Uttar Pradesh students who take admission from AKTU counselling and have yearly income less than 1,00,000/- are eligible for the Fee-waiver seat which causes no any fees requiredfor all four years. Campus placements are ok and average package is 4 Lakh which offers 70-80% of students.
Campus Life
The college organizes UNIFEST as an yearly festival which also includes inter-college games, competitions and DJ night with some popular singers. The UNIFEST is generally conducted in the month of April. Overall college life is interesting which includes club events, Summer and Winter carnivals, etc. GCET also offers a wide range of bboks and journals which includes Course related books as well as extra curricular study material. The use od smart boards, Smart Classroms makes the study effective and exciting as it contribute sin building visual concepts in the students. Various social clubs such as Rotaract-Galgotias, Camcircle, Chitrashala, etc invites lots of fun along with studying opportunities for the students. Rotaract-Galgotias helps tu build up empathic and humanitarian relationshipn with needy people who require cxare and support.
Admission
Admissions are through UP Governments AKTU Counselling which is based on Joint Entrance Examination . Application form is available on official website of AKTU. Application Fees = Rs 1000/- Reservation benefits are applicable during the process of counselling. The college needs to work on its administration and management as it often happens the occurance of long queues which is due to lack of management.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is almost perfect and it never creates an issue. Classes are smooth and properly functioning but there are several instances of lack of communication between faculty and students which also invites the fragile ego of several faculties. The approaches which teaching styles are almost good for all faculties except few of them as some of the teachers are actually problematic. The interaction between faculty and students is admireable as the faculty is alwas inviting to problem and doubt solving. Also the faculty is moreover mentally and emotionally supporting about issues and provides better guidance.
