Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The college was best in the course (B.com) and the ex-students shared the skilled level which inspired me. The curriculum showed the real meaning of the course and got the student in depth, which aided in the academic interests. The exams held was always when the syllabus and the preparations are done , adequate timing provided during exams and yes I must say that the question papers were difficult in comparisions to other colleges.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

TCS , WIPRO , BAJAJ ALLIANCE etc were the companies offered the internships for the students . They took interviews with various levels in it after which the students were placed in respective positions in the companies.

Placement Experience

4

The placements were provided in some good known companies. The students from semester 5th were given opportunity and were eligible for the placements. Around 5 to 6 companies visited and the offers were of good number of.companied like TCS, Wipro, Bajaj Alliances etc. Highest package was 50000 Students got placement were of almost 40% My plans after degree is to opt for govt. Exams

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure was budget friendly I.e a middle class student can easily get to the required fees. Additionally, the scholarships were provided which almost covered the whole fee sometimes according to the student's intelligence. My total cost were around 15000 with which I got 2 scholarships which helped me recover my fee and even I saved from that amount for my further studies too. As the College is govt. Based the fee structure is minimal. There are many scholarships available which included SVMCM , Kanyashree, WBMDFC, National scholarships. I got into NCC in the college which helped in my career and aided me to become an aminent student, I took responsibility of the arrangements in the seminars conducted as well as functions like freshers, farewell, sports day , independence day , republic day etc.

Campus Life

4.5

In the beginning a freshers festival was celebrated then after a numerous no of NCC programs were held then blood donation camps were held , independence day celebration, republic day celebration, Rabindranath Jayanti celebration, then youth day , yoga day , some campaigns like plantation campaigns, cleaning campaigns etc The class were with of both smart class and traditional class . Sports were also given a good importance every year sports day were held then tournaments were held like cricket tournament, football tournament, chess tournament, kho kho tournament etc within the College students and also with other colleges .

Admission

My course was B.com Honours with cut off for general category was 90% and reservation category was 50% . I was from general category and this is the only thing I didn't liked in the admission procedure the difference of the marks shocked me. The admission process included firstly to fill a form with all original documents and marks opted in 12th standard them they published some merit lists according to which students used to took admission in the college online/offline as per convenience. Application form was costed 50 rs before covid-19 thereafter it was free of cost. The entrance exams was held for those who were changing the subject field i.e in 12th they had a stream with which they were not continuing in the graduation.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty was in a good numbers there was a number of professors for a subject which helped in the learning process. All the faculties were highly qualified and had a good post which aided the students in a good mentorship and they allowed to interact whenever a student faced an issue regarding academics . They conducted meetings and seminars for more good learning approach. The college had NCC facility also which was in a very successful path.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
