What Students Say

Likes

The infrastructure is good not so perfect but good in it's own way.
Ravenshaw's library is good too many children goes there for self study.
It's near market area which makes easy for the students to buy the requirements.

Dislikes

The hostel food is not so great, many changes needs to be done.
The classes are not cleaned manier times
Classes doesn't have ACs. So it's very unbearable during summers

Course Curriculum Overview

Many teachers teach some times in the regional language that is odia and many students comes from other states as well so it makes difficult for them to understand. Also, internal marks in few departments are very biased.

Placement Experience

Ravenshaw University does provide placements but only to self finance courses. In other courses it is difficult to get placements. Although there are a bunch of other options for employment opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

Annual course fee is very minimal that is 1750. Hostel fee is approx 8k. And many scholarships are being provided by the odisha government to the students of the university like state scholarships and national ones as well and recently Nua o scholarships is also being provided by the government of odisha.

Campus Life

University does have different types of societies for events in ravenshaw, popularly known as PRIDE. Dance club. Debate club. Choir club. Ravenshaw radio is also quite popular. Ravenshaw literature society is another popular society. Also ravenshaw Film society has been very good.. Ravenshaw also has many hidden societies which are not official like phoenix the popular dance group, Team aurelia the popular modelling group.

Hostel Facilities

Ravenshaw University has many hostels both for boys and girls. Boys hostel - East hostel, West hostel, new hostel, new pg hostel, dharmapada hostel, jagarnath hostel, lalitgiri hostel. Girls hostel - Mahanadi hostel, daya hostel, Devi hostel , bhargavi hostel, parija hostel. Mahanadi hostel is the very standard one because it's newly built whereas all the other hostels are old. The mess food is very bad. Other than that all the other facilities are pretty nice.

Hostel Fee: INR 8000 per year

Admission

Admission process take place thru SAMS PORTAL launched by Odisha govt specially for this addmission purpose in different institutions of odisha. Also a selection list is being published based of the mark system of your 12th board percentage.

Faculty

The faculties are very great in some departments but in other half of the departments the faculty is not so great. But the teachers are very nice to us and they are very fun to cope up with. But language barrier does exist some times.

My hilarious lifetime experience of my college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love economics in 12th class so I choose this course. I love the calculation of statics and more intrested in business so I attracted toward economics. It was my first choice to choose economics. In 11th class our economic teacher was very good teacher his teaching inspire me lot to choose this course . It was difficult in the 3rd sem but that's the kick giving to you to solve hard questions.

They provide vast type of coriculom like - kabadi, football, cricket, nss, ncc etc. Who going to that field. That was best for that man applying that field. I i suggest for their improvement in faculty-student ratio. This university exams very tough. The Invigilateers are very stricts. They dont provide any comp on exams.

RAVENSHAW UNIVERSITY, CUTTACK is the one and only NAAC A++ tagged Govt university of Odisha also one of in India. Its everyone's dream to study in my University. Ravenshaw univerrsity history is more historic then other colleges and institutes. If you are lucky then you will get the admission into this. Other private and othr colleges you can get admitted by scoring avergae mark or with good amount of money but to get into Ravenshaw only your very good marks and luck is needed for it. So it;s the reason. I directly applied into this uniersity and get admission as am eligible for it and lucky also. The admission process is normal as other colleges.
