My experience

Since I'm a commerce student the first course came in my mind was getting bachelor's degree in commerce before any professional degree. I have searched for the best place for commerce student and the first thing Google suggested was Kolkata. So I searched for some colleges which doesn't have high fees and then this college came up . There were other colleges too but since it was pretty famous in Kolkata. I decided to take admission in Shri Shikshayatan college. Apart from this the teachers here are nice. So I never face any difficulties in my studies. And yeah one thing if u are planning to join this college for studies you shouldn't miss your classes. As I say most of the students don't go to college even me too I didn't had full attendence but I always try to not miss the classes of certain subjects. And if u want to take admission to have a fun college life. Then sorry this is not the one. I wish my college also provide such fun college events.

The tuition fees are not that high it only cost u around 25,000 for one semester which is pretty low for any Private college. Shikshayatan is a private college under Calcutta University whose overall course fee is around 1,50,000. I don't know much about financial aids or scholarship in order to take admission but the placement cell is pretty bad . We don't have any placement cell in our college. So don't get ur hopes up that you will get campus placement from here. In my three year college life only one company visited in the end of our second year was Deloitte and we never heard about any company coming for campus placement. After graduation, we got a mail that those students who got job have to fill the form. So they can put their names as they have given them the placement.

Honestly we don't have any fun college life it was pretty boring. We don't have any concerts or any events or any internship program. Sometimes it felt like we were in school. Which is one the disadvantage of the college life that it doesn't provide you the college life we dreamt of our whole life

Its not that tough to take admission in here I guess you have to score 70+ percentage in your 12th . If you have pretty good percentage like 90+ you can easily get admission and your name will come in the first cutoff list. But if you have 70+ then you have to wait for few times till your name come in the list. But eventually you'll get accepted. Do check the cutoff before taking admission in the college website.

We have about 2-3 teacher of each subjects like each of them teach us different topics so that it can get completed on time. So yeah I can say that our college faculty-to-student ratio was good. The teachers were nice, most of them have completed their professional course and then came to join the college. But yeah I can't say all the teachers are good . In about 5 teachers it's always 1 who just came in class to watch the students and didn't teach anything. But yeah overall the only thing I like about my college is it was pretty good. I remember during our last semester ( semester 6) we were given a project work for which we have to conduct survey and make a report about the company.I didn't had any idea how I'm gonna do all that. I'm thankful my supervisor was really nice she calmly mentor me throughout those 1 month and give my suggestion how I can make it better. And yeah the external teachers were really happy with the project haha it felt like the victory.
