National Institute of Engineering - Everything you need to know

The curriculum is good and shorter than other colleges with same university affliction since it is an autonomous college. As the college is good is good in ISE and CSE so for that reason I took ISE as my branch. the curriculum prepares us for the real world in some aspects but majorly if you want an high paying job you need to grow skills other than what is been taught. The teaching methods good its just the courses which are very introductory and doesn't get deep inside any topic. They need to add more computer based courses in the first year. We have 2 internals of 25 marks and a final exam of 100 marks. except of it we also have 2 quizzes. This all things are been done in one semester.

Companies like Infosys and other big companies comes in our college for internship with stipend but only for 3rd year students. As i being in first year don't have much idea about it. The tasks given to the interns are usually making a team and working on a web page or teaches digital marketing and work load management.

Usuallybthe campus placements starts from 4th year and but usually people get eligible for placemnet in 3rd year itself. Big companies which usually visit our college our Cisco, Accenture, Oracle, JP morgan, IBM, mercedes etc. The highest package of our college last yaer was around 54LPA and the average package is 8.5-9LPA and maximum companies comes to recruite as junior developer or software engineer. Last year almost 90% students were eligble and almost all got placed or joined higher studies. What I have decided is to complete the course and sidewise learning skill and getting placed in either from college or from off campus.

The tution fees of the college this year was 2.64lakh for COMEDK(outside Karnataka) and 1.1Lakh for KCET students (For karnataka). this is been increased by 10% from last year which was 2.42Lakh for COMEDK aspirants. Complete college fees including all the charges are around 11+ lakh for 4 years. this doesn't include hostel charges and other expenses. If you are not from karnataka you won't get and scholarship but if you are from karnataka you might get few state government funded scholarship. As I am from first year, i don't have got any jobs or internship yet but our seniors usually are getting placed in good companies.

There are many fest happening in our college including events like TechNIEks conducted by NISB club which is the biggest fest. Except of it we have almost 50+ diiferent events happening from different clubs in an year. Our college Library is very big and has good books which helps us for both academics and for skill growth. in total there are roughly 2000+ books all over the 2 libraries in our college. Except of some faculties maximum are very friendly with the technology upgradation and uses projector or smart board for teaching. except of this we have assignments where we need to do presentations using projectors. there are many sport complexes and ground. The college themselves conduct lots of sprts events and backs people whoever wants to make carrer in sports. There are many extracurricular activities also held like Yoga and Physical education classes. Majorly all the clubs are been running by the students only except one or two which are very good and very helpful.

The admission to this college is can be done by 3 means which are COMEDK, KCET and Management quota. COMEDK is for the students both inside and outside of Karnataka and is held in all over india. the rank required to enter this college for CSE is 5.2K for ISE is 8.7K and for AIML is 7.9K except of this there are other branhes as well. Through KCET the rank system is a bit bad cause they have caste system unlike COMEDK and reservation are been made for lower castes. Since I joined the college through COMEDK, I am not aware of KCET rank required. Other option is Management which is something I don't like of this college as 25% of the seats are reserved for management quota students. COMEDK and KCET happen once in a year an the difficulty level is below JEE and BITSAT but higher than SRMJEEE and VITEE.

Our college majorly has good faculties which are helpful. the facult to student ration will be around 1:20 which is actually good. The faculties are PhD in their respective fields and are very supportive. but some of the faculty are MSc and are not very capable to teach properly. Specially the first year physics and chemistry teacher are not that good. Although some of them are very good and does good mentorship and also never forces for attendance. We usually interact with teacher when we need something which we usually do in the classroom itself but except of it they are always availble in the staff room if we need any help.
