- The campus is really beautiful, there is abundance of greenery all around.
- The college places a lot of focus on academics instead of fests/events.
- It recently became autonomous, so the overall academics has improved, and the first autonomous batch is yet to sit for placements so we'll see what is the outcome
Dislikes
- The campus is situated 20km away from the center of the city, so travelling might be a little hectic.
- Attendance is given a lot of importance, this means the students have to maintain atleast 75% attendance, leaving little time for students to pursue their own interests.
Course Curriculum Overview
CSE is the most popular engineering course right now, we learnt Linear algebra, Regression, Vectors,etc in Maths in the First Year. This is basically the basics of Machine Learning. So the course is suited to teach students real-world applications and for further academic pursuits. C,C++ and Java was taught in 3 semesters, so the students are exposed to many languages. DSA will be taught 3rd semester onwards.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides internships 5th semester onwards, and students can apply in their own capacity as well. Companies such as ANZ,etc offer internships, some students even bagged internships from Microsoft as well.
Placement Experience
Students sit for placements from 6th semester onwards, many companies visit the campus, some offer internships, some provide placements. The proper details regarding average package, highest package,etc are written in the college website. Average till last year was 9 lakhs, and highest was 46 lakh. Last year, in CSE, 96% of eligible students were placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee(if taken admission through COMEDK) is ?2,42,000 per year(Current fees might be different). Students will have to pay Examination fees, Answer book fees,etc every semester which amounts to around 4-5k. Scholarships are provided for people with talent in Sports.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty average, Utsaha Vaibhava is the annual college fest held for 2 days. Tech Transform is another technical fest held every year department wise. An inter-department sports fest is also held. There is a Library with all the necessary books for engineering, along with access to online catalogue of books. The sports facilities are:- Badminton court, Basketball court, Ground for cricket and football, Sports room with Table tennis, carrom, chess. There are 2 gyms in the college, one in the hostel and the other in the Sports room. Clubs are:- Rotaract Club, Coding Crib, Access Denied, Eco Club, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms have a table, shelfs, and beds. The food is average, and we can't expect much from hostels. We eat out atleast once in a week. Menu is decided by the students and approved by the wardens. Hostel is provided based on how far your home is from Bengaluru. There are 3 blocks:- A block, B block, C block(only for NRI/foreign students).
Admission
I got admission through COMEDK, my rank was around 7500, and the cutoff for CSE was 8000 in 2022. The admission was postponed till November due to a court case involving the KCET exam, other than that there weren't any hiccups in admission. All of the admission process is done according to the COMEDK rules and regulations(for COMEDK students).
Faculty
There are 240 students and 33 faculties in CSE, and the teachers often teach the same class in multiple semester, this improves the bonding between the teachers and students keeping it intact till the final year. Some faculties are new, but most of them are experienced along with PhDs.
