- Location and accomodation . Very friendly behaviour of staff.
- Library is also available and that too also available in holidays.
- Department staff behaviour is good and they always help in every aspects.
Dislikes
- Not many placements available. Job opportunities are less.
- Teachers are good but some specific teachers are biased towards students.
Course Curriculum Overview
As my course is bachelor in science in statistics honours I can say that the department is very good and teachers are very trained to teach us. Department is small but they give us many studying opportunities in our day to day classes. Thanks to the department and I am very grateful to studying such a good department.
Internships Opportunities
Actually there are no internship available from the university point of view but if your teachers or head of department is understanding he/she will definitely arrange some internship programs for you . I have seen students of Bsc IST , they have got a intership program in bhubaneswar with the help of there head of department.
Placement Experience
It's not a very brand University so many placements are not provided. Only few local companies come for placement offers. As the vacancies are very less only a handful full of students with extraordinary marks gets the chances to attend interview. I think department wise placements are required to be introduced.
Fees and Financial Aid
As it is government University, the fees are 3400 rupees only Students also get many scholarship that is equivalent to the total course fees, that means we don't have to worry about financial crises I have also heard that we can study and also earn from the library.
Campus Life
There are many programs and functions all around the year . Some famous functions of year are freshers party, farewell party , athletic meet and annual function. Students wait eagerly for these functions and especially the dj nights after these functions are awesome.
Hostel Facilities
I have opted the hostel facility of the university which was my best decision. People say don't leave in hostels but it's a heaven really , a home away from home I say . Though the mess food was some how average and the give only 2 meals lunch and dinner , I still say hostel Life was the most beautiful time of my academic years.
Admission
At the time of admission we are selected on the basis of 12th marks and it's not always good because we don't have any entrance so the students who haven't got good marks in 12th but are talented doesn't get opportunities. And one more think is that when we are selected the classes start after 1 month but the students who are selected in spot councelling face problems as classes had already started.
Faculty
Very good behaviour of teachers . I like the way they teach us .....so much friendly and genuine towards students of statistics department. They always help us not only in studies but also in co curriculum activities. They have a very helping nature to us students .
