Course Curriculum Overview
Data analytics is an very intriguing course where the core subjects are statistics and probability and i think it has one of the highest potential in the future. I think so there is room to improvement in the term timings in a semester and the total number of credits in a semester needed
Internships Opportunities
There are two types of internships in vit one is where students are given internship from the university itself and in the another the student themself search for internship. Instead of internship there is also an option of doing research work with your classmate or your professors.
Placement Experience
From 4th year your placement starts after the completion of of all the core subjects. Many companies like Intel and L&T has recruited students from our course. The highest package is 75 lakhs and average package is 6 lakhs per annum. Almost 80% of students get placed but many of those companies may be mass recruitment companies though. I am planning on building my skills and try to forge my carrier in as a analyst.
Fees and Financial Aid
There has been no major change in our tution fees and the complete cost with hostel will be around 275000 as they charge 200000 for hostel with mess. There are schoolarship available for student who have performed well in there boards with upto 75% of tution fees.
Campus Life
The annual fest is known as Rivera which is a 4 days culture fest which is really good and gives really good entertainment and the technical fest is known as gravitas where there are technical meets are conducted and students participate in it. Riveria is conducted on February of winter semester and gravitas is conducted on July of fall semester Technology is used in day to day places in vit where there are innovative and creative in there execution
Admission
The eligibility of the course is 65% cut-off with maths or computer science as a core subject and the application form and dates are available in vit vellores official website. The frequency of exams is moderate as there are two continuous assessment tests with a month gap between them and an final exam with a good gap between it.
Faculty
The faculty to students ratio is pretty good at vit and most of them are well qualified and are PhD scholars. The most of the faculty are really there to help us with the course and very easy to approach. As the strength in vit is really high it's not possible to interact with them at anytime but they do interact while the lecture.
