Likes
- The main attraction of our college has always been its placement. Students basically take admission in this college for the placement. Even this year almost 90% students got placements in companies like SAP, Deloitte, TCS, Wipro, LTIMindtree etc.
- The faculty members are also very supportive. They help students in every steps and solves our problems. We even have extra doubt clearing classes before exams so that students can give their best in semester exams.
- Our college is very strict regarding attendance. Students, who fail to get 75% attendance, are not allowed to give exams. In our college we have several facilities like library, WiFi, labs. Apart from tiffin period, students even get a game period.
Dislikes
- One of the major drawback of our college is its infrastructure. The chairs are not good. It is not comfortable at all. Even in our time all the classrooms did not used to have ACs. Though in our last semester in several rooms AC was installed.
- Though we have a canteen in our college but the price is quite high there. So students basically go to nearby restaurants for lunch. Even several times students were told to submit assignments and other formalities without prior notification.
- In our time the teachers were very good and supportive. However many of them left from school and joined in other institutions. There are many new faculities who do not help students in project and advise them to submit project as their choice.
Course Curriculum Overview
BCA course is one of those courses which students of this generation like very much. Basically students who love coding and want to build software enjoy this course. And BCA department of our college is one the best department in West Bengal. In our college before each semester several exams taken to help students for their best result. In every year there is a project where students are instructed to build models which are helpful in real world applications and also for their future. Even in labs tough coding is given to students to build their strength in coding. However many computers of labs are old model, even the mouses and keyboards donot work several times, which the authorities need to focus.
Fees and Financial Aid
In our college students can apply for government scholarships. There is also a scheme in our college where students who have financial disabilities, their college fees get reduced. College this year 174 students around 150 students got placed in different companies.
Campus Life
One year before campus placement, our college started extra classes for student so that they can easily get placed. Even our faculty members took interviews of us before our placement campaign. Apart from placement, we used to have classes for government jobs.
Admission
For admission students to give test known as SET where today's need to solve MCQ type questions of Math, English and Reasoning. If any student fail to qualify the test in the first chance he/she can give the test again. After qualifying this exam today can get admission to our college.
Faculty
In our time, our faculties were really good and helpful. Our HOD was really strict but very supportive. He always used to motivate us for our future. And even the other faculty members are very supportive. They teach students in best possible way and with lot of patience. After every class students have to give class tests. There are other assignments and projects for each subject. Even we have labs where our practicals are taken. Everyday at the end we have a doubt clearing class where faculties solve students' problems. Students can interact with faculties anytime, even can contact them after class. Every year the college organises a football match between students and teachers.
