Likes
- The Infrastructure is really good and recently they have built new Studio and Media Lab for Students which really helps them for the learning of Digital Softwares.
- The Crowd is Decent and allows you to network a lot since Wilson has hostel facility there are many outstation students and you get an amazing versatility.
Dislikes
- The Faculty of BMM is not as expected, I mean its not too bad but the HOD is not good, but Major Plus is that Wilson has Mr. Sudhakar Sir, who's the pioneer of BMM.
- College's Admin Desk is not good, including all the on site office works.
Course Curriculum Overview
The subjects and curriculum are well structured but it depends on the teachers how they make it to students. The most projects are really great and prepares you for the actual industry but on the other hand you'll also get basic and traditional projects like essay and PPTs from some teachers. Only few teachers make the subjects sound sane when on the other hand other teachers are just reading it out loud from the Pdfs. Biggest Pro is that all of your projects get individual marking and reviews about them for improvement. The frequency of Exam is decent and they are Intermediate level.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are between 26K to 31K. The rise goes maximum till 34K but not more than that. In First Year my fees were 26K, In second year they were 28K and in Third year now it is 31K. Various kinds of Scholarships are available for students but there are no college employment opportunities.
Campus Life
Wilson has festivals going literally every month of various Departments. BMM has Polaris (July) and College's annual festival is called as "Ole" which is between December to January. Then there's "HOPE" of BMS department which mostly happens in September and October. All students are encouraged to be part of all of these festivals. Wilson College has the biggest library of Mumbai and its historical library which ranges books from 200 years ago. The classrooms are Decent and Basic with projector and Blackboard, nothing else. Wilson has AV room and Smart TV room for special lectures. The extracurricular is Great. College has a club called Muktangan which takes care of all the extracurricular activities, events in the college and sports. This club make sure that all of the Extracurricular Activities' credits get added to your Degree and Semester Results.
Admission
I got 86% in my 12th from Arts Stream and as far as I remember, the last cut off was closed till 80%. You can find the application form on the college website and application fees might be ranging from 100 to 200 Rupees. In Wilson, Christian Minority is there so you can avail benefits of the reservation. There are 4 Exams taken Every year. 2 of them are Internal and other 2 are External. Each of them has atheist 2 months Gap. Admission process was smooth since everything was online and the college just called once in college for documents submission, nothing more than that.
Faculty
Mr. Sudhakar Solomonraj who's considered as the pioneer of BMM is in Wilson and that's the biggest plus of taking admission in this College. Sudhakar sir is the heart and soul of this department, His experience in Media plus Political Science department adds extra exposure to students' experience. All the other faculty including the HOD are well qualified .
