Course Curriculum Overview
My course is BTech - IT. It is one of the highly valued career options available. The curriculum for BTech IT at Niet is well-designed keeping all the necessary and latest technologies in mind. It focuses on preparing the students for real-world problems and training them for them. Industry-demanded training are part of the syllabus and students get to learn about the latest tools and techniques for that field/subject.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are available under NIET - IIC cell and IDEA Lab, and an internship program is also available for AR - VR from the Centre of excellence metaverse as well. These are 2-week internships that focus on the student's ability to work on real-world problems and training is also provided for the same.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements from the end of 6th semester. A lot of noted companies like JTP, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, HCL, Capgemini etc visit the campus for placements. Average package offered is of about 4-5 lpa. The highest package of last year was of 51lpa from Microsoft. Many internship opportunities are also provided by cmc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee for 1st year is a bit higher but the fee for subsequent years is comparatively lower. The complete cost of btech for batch 21-25 is almost 5lac and the fee per year is around 1.15lac. There are numerous scholarships for students which they can avail after talking to the administration office.
Campus Life
The college is more focused on academics. Clubs & societies plan and organize events often. Library has a wide collection of reference books which you can issue at anytime. All classes are equipped with projectors and all labs have new gen smart screens which make learning much better. There are many sports events and annual sports meet is held every year along with an annual sports day.
Admission
Niet takes both direct as well as jee cut-off based admissions. To be eligible you have to secure above 45% marks in 12th boards or qualifying exams. For lateral entry you have to secure minimum 45% in diploma or equivalent for admission. To my knowledge there is no application form fee or any application fee. Exams are scheduled to be held almost every 1.5 - 2 months (3 sessionals of 30 marks each and 1 end sem exam per semester).
Faculty
The faculty at Niet is great. Each teacher plays a significant role in improving a student's knowledge and is welcome to questions and provide help whenever a student is in need. Classes are held regularly from 9 am - 5 pm (on the dot) every day which feels extremely hectic. Lunch break is 1 hour from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm. Faculties solve every student's doubt before moving to a new topic and are always open to more questions if needed. Most teachers, if not all, are friendly and approachable and provide the class with notes and extra material to prepare for their subject.
