An honest look at IIITDM Kurnool: Ideal for some, Not All

Honestly speaking, the course curriculum is not that good and industry oriented. Some of the subjects are outdated. They do not focus on the subjects which are actually required to get a job in the industry.

College ask us to do interships after the end of the third year. You can go outside for internship on your own otherwise college will provide In-house internship. And if you have good connections with your professors than they can help you in getting internship offers from reputated organizations like DRDO and IITs.

Usually college placements start in the end of the third year or at the start of the fourth year after the completion of the interships. In the previous years placements were good but this year(2024) placements are really bad. Only a few students got placed and most of them were from CSE departments. There were almost no placements for other departments. College has signed MoU with IIM Vishakhapatnam and a universty of Norway so you can go there for higher studies if you do not have plans for placements in your fourth year of graduation

Previously the tuition was less but now it is quite high. But college provide scholarships to the weaker section of the students accoding to their category in which they fall. And the amount of scholarship is very lucrative. And placements were good till 2023 but this year(2024) placements were really bad.

As college has built it's new campus so campus life will be definitely good for the upcoming students. There are number of clubs are there in college which you can join according to your area of interest. College organises one cultural fest(SOLASTA) every year. College has it's own library, newly built classrooms and labs and they are having sufficient resources available for the studies.

At this stage college has four hostels one for girls and three for boys. As college is established recently so the hostels are really good. In your first and second year you will get double occupancy rooms but in your third and fourth year you will have single rooms with all the basic facilities available. Mess food is of moderate quality and taste. You have to pay and register separtely for (mess + hostel) and for institute fees.

Admission can be taken with the score of JEE Mains. After clearing cut-off marks you can opt for Jossa and CSAB counselling to take admission in this college. College conducts exam three times in a semester- two minors and one major and the difficulty level of the exam is moderate. And you just have to focus on your respective coursework to get good grades in the exams.

As College is in it's developing stage so I think the faculty to student ratio is not bad which is nearly 1:8 (approx). Some faculty members are good at teaching while some of them are not even able to explain the concepts. And no doubt, we can interact with faculty members easily.
