- The work load is high and the college life is very hectic sometimes
- If you are joining for fun college life then it's not the one. The main fest happens every 2 years
- The campus size is not huge as many other old colleges
Course Curriculum Overview
The major aspect about mechanical engineering in RVCE is that it is very industry oriented, there's a lot of theory but the college has major collaborations with companies like toyota, MG, etc where we can work on real life project which will prepare us for future work. The area of improvement could be that in place of theory more practical work could be done. There are 3 internal exams known as CIE(best 2 of 3 considered) 3 quizzes (same for them) And there are lab exams And one semester end exam known as SEE.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of internship opportunities in the campus itself as there are a lot of companies the college has collaborated with which makes it easier for students to get a gist of the real work experience.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible after 3rd year for placements. There are a lot of companies visiting like Airbus, Boeing, flipkart and a lot of companies The highest package from mechanical of the entire past batch was 24 lakhs and average is around 8 lakhs More than 50% of the students get placements above 8LPA. And around 80-85% students get placed. The rest either do not sit for placements or go for further studies I'll sit for placements
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fees increases by 10% every year for a new batch. For 2022 batch the tution fees is 222000 and including all the extra fees it is 265666. The total 4 years fees will be around 10-11 lakhs There are some scholarships for SC/ST students and girls like one provided by Mercedes to girls. For students entering through COMEDK there are no scholarships. One can take responsibilities at the centre of excellence in the college
Campus Life
8th mile is the annual fest which happens every 2 year and there is E-summit organized by the E-cell of the college. There's a library with a wide range of books and a digital library as well. Inside the classroom there are electronic TV like boards where we are taught There are a lot of sports being played in the college from cricket to kho kho And finally there are a lot of cultural and technical clubs in the college, one can easily find one that aligns with their interest.
Admission
I entered through COMEDK which can be registered on the COMEDK site. It happens every year. It's not as tough as jee but surely not easy There are no negative marking in the exam and the cutoffs of mechanical are around 6000 comedk rank
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is pretty good. Most of the faculties here hold a PhD from esteemed Universities from India and across the world. The teachers are very helpful. But just like every college not all the teachers are good but they are very few otherwise the teachers are pretty chill and helpful.
