Campus Life

5

Fresher's party takes place at november, Annual college fest takes places around march, cultural fest takes place throughout the year. Every department organises their annual fest throughout the year. The libaray is huge and it has all kinds of books ranged from course related to ficiton, novel, biographies, magazines, daily newspaper, etc. Smart boards are there at every classrooms. Sports department is very renowed recently one of my friends from the university got selected at Indian cricket team.

Admission

The process includes submission of application form(1500) and sharda entance test that was online, minimun marks needed was 50% at 12th standard. Everything was provided to me through the website but it's also there at the campus offline.

Faculty

4

The student to faculty ratio is 1:10. Every 10 students are alloted one faculty mentor who helps us to navigate the best at internships, and other fields of interest. Higly encouraging and motivating faculty, the best part about the faculty is personalized attention, class participation and feedback.

Interview Experience

5

The topics of GD generally is based upon the courses you choose. Interview questions were pretty basic talks about you and why you want to choose this course. The enterance test paper pattern was mcq, divided in 4 section amplitude, reasiong, Gk, and maths. I didn't prepared for the test actully it was pretty basic.

Placement Experience:

80% students are placed through DME with a package of 5 LPA to 7 LPA on an average which is quite decent for a fresher entering the industry. The top recruiting are for placements are Bharat Express, PR Guru, Amar Ujala, Dynamite News, T.H.E.M.E.S. Over 90% of the students were placed for internship in Amar Ujala, PR Guru, Aaj Tak, ABP News and Doordarshan. Top roles offered are journalist, content writer, anchor, film maker, and back end roles like video editor, graphic designer and many more. I personally plan to go into video editing after getting the degree.

There are not many direct placement with major media houses although students sometimes get industry exposure through sessions or visits .

Placements of our colleges and mediocre. From 6th semester students become elegible for campus placement. The highest package offered was 6LPA and the average package is 3-4 LPA. Placement depends upon the students applying for placement through college. Many students gets internships or jobs by themselves before even reaching placement cell.

Students become eligible for placement during their final year of college. DME offers several different companies that it has tie ins with for placements to students such as Gadgets 360, Aaj Tak, Myntra, PTI and D&P. 70-80% students get a good placement package. My personal plan following graduation is to pursue my higher education in correspondence with employment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself was nothing out of the ordinary material, it teaches you the basics of the field but the faculties were pretty good and helped us understand not just the basic but a little more so that we could actually be able to work in the environment once we get there. Also they organise workshops which was mandatory for all the students without any extra charge to learn from professional what to do and how to do it best. We also used to get projects which actually helped alot in learning with practice the theory.
