Course Curriculum Overview
The couse follows CBME pattern, it is the same nationwide. I was not influenced by someone or something. I wanted to pursue this degree since school. College really prepares you to interact with the outside world. You'll interact with many patients in wards as well as in campus. Taking to different kinds of people and observing a number of patients will lead to your growth onky. Exams are a bit too much on your mental and physical health. But if you're going to be a doctor. This much will need to be sacrificed
Internships Opportunities
The internship is mandatory. You've to do it in your college only. A year long internship will be done with postings in different departments. You'll also have to do field visits and rural postings
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees is not very much. The whole course will cost you around 60k rupees in West Bengal except the personal expenses, books and instruments. The main amount of money goes in buying many books and instruments including stethoscope and sphygmomanometer and coaching apps. You can get different scholarships. Talk to the students section regarding this.
Campus Life
Ecstasy is the annual fest of our college. Edu fests are also organised annually. You can take part in all of them and gather some good experience. The fests are very fun you'll have a time of your life during that period. Classrooms are huge and air conditioned. Smart boards are also present. Mostly teachers use slides for teaching. Sports are always organised. In Kolkata this is the only medical college with a ground. You can play whenever you want. A by the students and for the students union is present. Which has elections every year
Admission
Get 60 percentage in 12th Give NEET Cut offs increase every year, you've to get a rank below 8000-9000 to safely get this college if you're a general category student. Reservation is present like every other college. EWS seats can also be availed if you're eligible for it. Seats for PwD candidates also present Admission process is smooth,just gathering the documents required for admission can be hectic. Check the Wbuhs website for details of documents. The college will also give a notice regarding documents required.
Faculty
Most of the faculties have pursued MBBS and MD. Some of them are very good. Getting taught from them will be a once in a lifetime experience. But yeah,some are just weird. Practical classes are done with small batches which gives you opportunity to learn. Some of the faculties mentor the students very well. Even if you're low and not in very sound mental health you can talk to people there. Teachers are approachable. You can talk to any faculty without any hesitation. Reaching to HODs can be also done if they are not busy on any meetings and all.
