Umesh Chandra college is specially build for commerce and accounting students and it is a heritage to study commerce in Umesh Chandra College. it is one of the best college you'll find in Kolkata to study commerce

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure is very low compared to other colleges. The fees for B.com Honours in Accounting and Finance is only 5000/- pet year which is the lowest in Kolkata. They also provide Scholarship facilities to the merit students.

Campus Life

The Umesh Chandra College is also good at providing sports facilities to their students in many fields like Cricket Football Carrom Chess Quiz Debates and many more fun and Social activities are performed to maintain the student's Social life too

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

Course Curriculum Overview:

The aspects of the curriculum which really influenced my decision was building the foundation of accounting to holding expertise, which was aligned with my goal of studying CA. The curriculum used to be upto date which give us a real time exposure. The exam used to take place in every 3 months.

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

I was selected to most of the universities except one that is Goenka as it was having a higher eligibility criteria which I couldn't able to meet. The reason why I choose this college because my cousin was the alumni of the college and the second reason was the affordability of the tuition fees.
