IIITDM Kurnool : innovation meets excellence

We know that the Govt. of India is laying huge emphasis on the semiconductor industry of India so the potential for growth and opportunities is high in the ECE department. IIITDM is located between Hyderabad and Bengaluru, the two major IT and electronic hubs of our nation. The placements are definitely going to rise exponentially in this field. Apart from them, I had an interest in electronics from class X itself. The curriculum is the same as it is in other top-notch institutes of our country like IITs and NITs. The course curriculum we follow is of NIT Warangal. Our professors use projectors and smart boards for better explanation of the subject matter. Labs and Practical workshops are scheduled so that we have real-life understanding of the concepts

from 3rd year onwards you become eligible for placements. many reputed and popular firms and companies hire from our campus Infosys, Wipro, TCS, etc. come for campus recruitments. MNCs like Google, Amazon, Microsoft are not coming due to low popularity of the Institute.. but due to location of the Institute students prefer to go for off campus placements.. the placements are not definitely up to the mark, but they wlll gradually increase over time. As per 2023 records, the highest package offered was 28LPA from CSE, ECE highest was 14LPA, average was 11LPA from CSE and 9 LPA for ECE. the overall average is 10 LPA. For Mech. I don't have the data. I will go for Post Graduation after completion of my Bachelors. We don't know about the placements in the coming years, but they are gonna increase over time

Since the Institute is under the MoE so the fees is also less than the private institutes and other PPP IIITs. The fees is increased keeping in check the market. The change in fees structure is intimated to students long before the final deadline. The academic fees remains constant most of the time. Some variation can come in the hostel and mess charges. SC, ST candidates are expelled from the academic fees. Scholarships are available for the students accordingly. Respective state governments also provide students fee relaxation and scholarships.

Solasta is our annual cultural fest which is held in February. Many esteemed and distinguished personalities come to our Institute. Festivals and special occasions are celebrated with great pomp and show. Students are highly active during this time. Dance, shows, dramas, standups, etc. are included. The classooms from 2nd year onwards are in the new blocks which were built last year only. These classrooms have WIFI connectivity, ACs, comfortable and student friendly seats and tables. Power sockets are also available for each student beneath the table. Sports facilities are also fine. Cricket ground is under construction and it will take time for completion. Basketball, cricket pitches, football, lawn tennis, badminton all are played in the campus grounds. Groups and clubs are there for engaging students into some social and extra curricular work.

For 1st and 2nd year students accomodation is provided in sharing basis. We have three boys hostel (SRK, Kalam, MVHR) and one girls hostel (KCHR). From 3rd year onwards personal rooms are provided to students. Food quality is above average. Everything is fine in dining section. Rooms are well spacious and since they are newly built, they look good and create a soothing atmosphere.

You have to appear for the JEE Main exam and need to score the required marks. After clearing the exam you have to register your candidature for JoSAA and fill in your choices. You will be alloted to the Institute as per your rank and order of preference of course. The reservation is alloted as per the Govt. of India directives. I got an ECE dual degree in CSAB round II.

We have very experienced and nice faculty here. The approximate number of students in our class is 66 including regular and dual degree students. After the end of 3rd year they are separated. The highest number of students are in CSE which is 80 to 85. Our faculties are transferred by the Education Ministry so all are well qualified. Many have got degrees from IITs, IISc and foreign universities. Our new director is the former director of IIT Hyderabad. The teachers are available at their respective cabins in the Department buildings so you can approach them for queries and other things.
