Entrance Preview
Because I decided to study microbiology after my plus two education. My college has only microbiology with nanotechnology at that time I chose Nehru college for my under graduation. Because of the comfort level of my department, I decided to do my masters also at the same college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum or the subjects we had is good but I feel for microbiology with nanotechnology they can be included more than 3 papers in nanotechnology. We had only 2 papers related to nanotechnology that too in the 3rd year as they are offering nanotechnology as a course can include more papers
Internships Opportunities
No, we are supposed to do an internship training for 15 days the college would not provide internship facilities. We are supposed to find industry and do an internship
Placement Experience
Placements were very good. Many of the companies like Wipro many BPO companies were visited and recruited the problem with placement for life science students is that there are not many companies but a very few companies related to life science is there.
College Events
As our college is in Tamil Nadu but the students were there are mostly Malayalees so we had both the cultural festivals of Kerala and Tamil Nadu like Onam and Pongal celebrations. We have pooja celebration. Apart from that September and fantabulous are programs which are grandly celebrated.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible but we need to pay more on celebration fee maintainence fee and breakage fee and lots of fees were taken by our college which is not feasible. Semester and exam fees which come under the norms of Bharathiar university which is reliable.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't know much about this. But I think they have some scholarship for the poor students. I think there is no loan facility offered by our college
Campus Life
I had a very good life over there on my campus had enjoyed a lot. And have good friends good faculties and a campus with a good environment. Had good moments overall. Canteen facilities seminars provided by our college placements everything was really good.
Hostel Facilities
As I am not in the hostel I am not much aware of the hostel. But still, I have heard from my hostel friends that the mess food was not really good enough. Other than food there are no issues by the facilities provided by hostel I feel as I said before I am not much aware of this.
Alumni/Alumna
Not with the alumni network I personally have some contacts with my seniors and have a good relationship with them.
Exam Structure
the exam which is conducted by Bharathiar University. But we had internal exams which are conducted by our college which will exactly be like the board exam we have 2 internals and 1 model examination. From the best of 2 internals and the model, the exam mark will be submitted to the university.
Admission
We took admission directly from the Nehru college office no particular admission process was there at that time. We filled all the forms and joined. Before 2 weeks of the class starts they called for an interview just for the sake. Simply they asked why this college and why this course.
Faculty
All the faculties in my department were good and they were very friendly. But the thing is too strict in discipline. Academic basis they are good enough and had a proper qualification Ph.D. Overall the faculties were good enough. They created a friendly atmosphere in class
