My college review

The college is good in terms of infrastructure teaching education and bad in terms of placements College management is good in terms of maintaining deciplane But must improve the canteen and food quality

Actually I had no other options since my scores in CET was too high And one more reason is it has gained somewhat popularity in Mangalore when comes to teaching and other kinda stuffs But yeah due to limited options I did select this college and one more thing is I got in CET Quota and also my desired branch(mechanical engineering )

The course structure will be similar in all the college's except the electives In the first and second semester u will be have all the subjects like physics chemestry maths civil mechanical etc etc It is divided into two sections that is physics cycle and chemestry cycle. U may get physics cycle in 1st semester and chemestry in second or visa versa And from second year onwards u will be moved to ur respective departments likeCS EE E&C MECH CIVIL AUTOMOBILE MARINE IT NANOTECHNOLOGY and coming to focus on research there is no such kinda stuff Like if ur interested in doing research then u have to do it on ur own and few I mean very few faculty may help u or I can say guide u What I want to say is the lectures won't force u to do a research

No our college does not provide any internship from their end And it is not compulsory alsonbut yeah they will take u to industrial visit in the 3rd year if engineering just to know how an industry worksnand if ur interested to do internship then u can search one from ur end and do it during semester leave and if ur internship is of one month then no need to worry they will give the attendance

Placement was one of my horrible experience very few hardly 3-4 mechanical company visited our college But for IT ppl it was good companies like INFOSYS TECHMAHINDRA IBM SLK SOFTWARE DIYA SYSTEMS,Q SPIDERS,MANDOVI MOTORS INDO MIM ROBOSOFT etc visited our college and the package was around 300-3.5lakhs per annum.coming to how many were place I don't know the exact numbers but I this 45 percent ppl got placed out of 100

The college organization many events like prathiba envision technical talks etc prathiba and envision include both technical and non technical events Technical events like paper presentation seminars robot building etc and non technical events like rangoli flash mob counter strike and many more I cannot remember all of them apsrt from this there were spots day college day graduation day etc ppl from other college used to participate in these events (prathiba and envision) And also there were pongal onam,deepavali and Christmas celebration in the college

Fee structure as I already mentioned above is that if u got admissions through CET Quota then the fee will be 50k per year which is feasible And if u have not written CET and if ur from other state then u will get admissions here but the fee will be around 150k to 200k every year

No the college doesn't provide any scholarships fro their end but they provide the list of agencies that provide scholarships the best part is college ask u to submit the required documents and then the college itself takes care of other procedures and coming to loan facility they have tie up with 2 banks and provide easy loans if required

The college life was good Met with new ppl from other states get to know about this traditions and cultures The gender ratio was almost equal and no partiality was done in terms of race or religion every one we're happy enjoying their studies and extra curricular activities the simple rule was if you are good and friendly and we'll diciplained then the whole college along with principal hod will support you if ur bad then belive me ppl will be least bothered as about you labs and sport ground we're very good Like there was no cases like this instrument is not available or this particular software is not available

Coming to hostel facility the hostel infrastructure was good and only two ppl were allowed in one room but the food was not up to the mark like 3times food will be provided but it was not so good for breakfast they provide idli dosa bread bonda pulav etc and for lunch and dinner normal rice and some curry There was no non veg inside the campus

Alumini network in the sense the college will organise alumini meet every year there u get to meet both seniours and Juniors and helps you to have a contact with them sometimes helpful like if ur senior refers u to the company where he works then it's well and good

Ya exams were conducted quite frequently and strictly There were 3 internal exams of 25marks The college was very serious about the exams conducted to the students But the correction was linient There were CCTV in each classes and at the end comes the external exams conducted by VTU Those we're a bit hectic since u cannot expect the same question what u have learnt

Admissions process is quite simple here U need not write any entrance exam(I mean from college end) nor u have any interview U can get admissions in 2 ways if u have CET score then u will get admissions in government quota that is the fee will be less like around 50k every year if u are not writing CET and want admissions here then it's fine just visit the college fill the form and done but but but the fee will be around 150k to 200k every year And once u fill the form u just pay the fee and it's done they will inform the reopening date and ur engineering life starts

Coming to faculty there are very few who knows almost every thing about the subject or can solve any type of problem Being frank They just focus on what u expect in exam for ex the fan rotates Our faculty will tell u that if u turn on the switch the fan rotates But they won't tell what machanism is making the fan to rotate unless and until it is mentioned in the textbook This was from teaching point of view Now coming to other stuffs the lectures are very Friendy linient supports u during ur bad times and also motivates u Coming to qualification there were we'll qualified lectures All done their mtech and many are persuing phd
