Course Curriculum Overview
B.Borooah College is affiliated to Gauhati University, and the course, curriculum and syllabus are all set by the university itself. The curriculum fits in perfectly. Sometimes it's a bit lengthy as it covers numerous topics. But the included topics further help us to fit in today's competitive world. The timely conduct of exams is one of the best things on the part of the university. The course almost gets completed in the particular time period.
Fees and Financial Aid
The admission fees ranges from Rs. 5000-10,000 depending on the course you select. For general degree course it generally charges Rs. 5000-7000 which is very minimal. And about the tuition fees, the college do not charge any tuition fees. Per year we just have to pay the admission fees and a minimum examination fees under Rs.2000.
Campus Life
The College celebrates its foundation day on 13th of September. Every year it organises a college week. The College week comprises of a lot various competitions held among the students and departments. The College week always ends with a grand cultural evening. Freshmen social is organised for the new comers each year. It also celebrates Bihu, Sarawati Puja. The library of B.Borooah College has pile of over 50,000 books and journals available for both teachers and students. There is a gym for fitness of the students.
Admission
For a general degree course, the student must be 10+2 qualified from any board in any of the streams arts, commerce or science. The admission is totally based on merit. The cut-off fluctuates every year. It's better if you score 80% and above. There are also reserved seats for EWS, ST, SC, NCC. There is no such entrance exams for admission. The students can directly apply in the SAMARTH portal.
Faculty
The faculty of each department is highly educated and very reputed. They are very liberal. Most of the faculty members of B.Borooah College are PhD degree holders. Each department has enough members against each subject. The most beneficial point for us as students is that even now at college level our teachers provide us with notes.
