The College has become an old warhorse losing it's star status. Will ne happy to see the College with its old status and records.
Entrance Preview
This was one of the best colleges i had for my cutoff in my 12th standard. Moreover it is situated in my hometown Coimbatore, so I preferred this college than other colleges. It has a decent academic and placement records too.My school senior also suggested me this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very good. The college has an very good academic records. It has given a bunch of University rank holders through years.Though it has good record but the it is diminishing year by year. The college has to do something to keep up it's good records.
Placement Experience
The number of placement offers are going down year by year. There are enough placement opportunities for circuit branches, but for non circuit branches there are rarely one or two companies visit for the campus placements. The salary packages offered is average.
College Events
The College conducts lots of technical events. There will be atleast 3 events conducted by each department in a semester. But there will hardly 2 non- technical events conducted in a year. There will be festival celebrations too in the college campus.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The one good thing about the college is that the fees structure.The fee structure is so feasible. When compared to others colleges the fee charged by the college is so low. But however the bus fee will be costly, that is due to its distance from the city.
Campus Life
The campus life is awesome. The environment is well suited to enjoy the campus life. About the labs ,it has well equipped lab facilities. As far as mechanical department is considered it has separate labs for Manufacturing, Fluid Mechanics, Thermal etc. The college also supports for sports activities. It concerntrates on football and basketball.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are average. I am a day scholar so I don't know about the hostel facilities. I have heard from my friends they have a very bad experience in the hostel premises. The mess facilities are too bad . The hostel students will have a tough time dealing with the mess food.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni is the true strength of the college. They are so supportive to the juniors of the college. The give guest lectures and even placement training to the students.
Exam Structure
It is an affiliated college so the exam are conducted by Anna University. There will be normally 6 theory paper and 3 practical papers. Each paper will cost 150 rupees. The scoring is for 100 marks , 85 marks from external exams and 15 marks from internal test conducted by the college.
Admission
I got admission through the common engineering counselling by the Anna University. I had a decent cutoff of 173.75 and according to my cuttoff i had to choose the colleges. The counselling took place in the Anna University Chennai. Moreover there is a choice of joining the college directly without attending the counselling too.
